Obviously doesn't matter right now; just randomly curious..
Sorry if I worded the question weird, but I’m curious because I’m graduating in a couple of weeks and I have name that’s difficult for people to pronounce. During the ceremony does the announcer just give it their best guess? Or do they ask for phonetic spellings at some point?
Edit, I did have to give a phonetic spelling, but I’m just worried they’ll misunderstand it or something.
Graduating on Friday (wooo), but my main stress at the minute is them screwing up my name when they read it out. I have quite a rare/difficult last name and was asked to write it out phonetically. But I’m still worried they won’t check beforehand and read it out awkwardly/straight up incorrectly. I know it might depend on the uni, but can anyone else with difficult to pronounce names give me hope?
