Am I missing something? In Photoshop 25 it IS possible to add multiple gradients to one mask. However, you can only adjust the last gradient you've initiated. In essence, it "bakes" the previous gradients onto the mask. So if you wanted to "stack" a bunch of gradients on the same mask only the last one is editable; just like "Classic" mode. This is feels very unpolished as a feature. Answer from Carlos.A.Gonzalez on community.adobe.com

r/photoshop on Reddit: Create gradients from multiple angles in a mask
May 20, 2025 -
Using previous photoshop I can create multiple gradients from different angles. In 2025 version, I'm stuck with the first gradient. All I could do is move the gradient end dot around. Can't create a new gradient angle.

We now have two choices up in the gradient tool options bar, as u/redditnackgp0101 pointed out. I had created a new blank layer, then I chose the classic gradient, linear mode, foreground to transparent. I created a linear gradient from each corner, choosing a different foreground color for each corner.

You'll prefer the classic gradient option then.

Gradient tool blend modes can still be used on masks as well as on normal layers. In the attached example I first use a gradient left to right then set the tool to "Multiply" and used it top to bottom Dave

The gradients need to go from the hue/color to transparent and not color to color. For example, use Black to Transparent and not Black to White

And from the bottom of the layers panel, or click the mask icon. Then I'll tap the G key to select my gradient. And I'm going to hold down the control key on Mac or right click and reset the tool. I'll also tap the D key to reset my foreground and background colors, and with a linear gradient selected I'll drag from left to right in the layer mask.

Use the classic mode if you must (see toolbar). · It also depends on picking the correct gradient (some color to transparent, not white).
