I'm not a keyboard specialist at all, but Yamaha P-45 seems to meet your description. Casio CDP-S100 is $50 cheaper than Yamaha P-45, and I almost fell for the Casio because I liked how it felt and it was a bit cheaper. My friend who is like 100 times better at piano than I am says the P-45 is pretty satisfactory to casually play at (they don't practice for performances on the grand any more). More on reddit.com

I'm trying to get back into playing but I only have a 55 key cheap rinky dink keyboard and I want something a little nicer... preferably something with pedals but I understand for my price point that's asking a lot. I do definitely need 88 weighted keys and volume adjustment but that's all I "NEED" I could probably swing $500 but if there's anything out there that hits the $400 price point that would be awesome!
