I sold stickers for several years until around 2022, and did well pre-star seller era. I shipped with stamps, a hundred or more orders a month and had maybe ONE envelope get lost or be late per month. After Etsy starting forcing tracking, I switched to the first class tracking option and it became a nightmare. I was getting 4-5 customers a week asking where there orders were. An envelope would sometimes be scanned delivered a dozen ???? times in the tracking details, not be delivered, and they would actually get it 2-3 days later, after messaging me combative and hateful of course.
I was getting terrible reviews over it at no fault of my own. It got exhausting at the same time I had a big life change so I just took the listings down and switched to all digital. I’d love to start again if it could be different but after the drop in views and revenue I saw in my digital items recently the month I had a 94% message response rate and lost star seller (and immediate skyrocketing once I got it back) I know I can’t succeed without it.
Does fake tracking work? Has Pitney Bowes gotten better?! I literally just want to use ****ing stamps.
I cringe everytime someone ships with that scammy company because it's a 50/50 chance I'll actually get it. Tracking these numbers hardly work (only work on Etsy most of the time), plus PB lets packages sit in their "facilities" for days (sometimes for weeks) on end before sending it along. And in one case (package bought from elsewhere) send it to the WRONG destination hub (i.e. Atlanta, where there's a MAJOR problem going on with mail delivery right now) where it's just sitting for who the hell knows how long. PB customer service is the absolute worst & no help at all since they refuse to admit to their f-ups and tell you to contact the shipper or USPS. These games with packages have caused many sellers to lose money due to customers like myself demanding refunds because of slow or lost deliveries.
I know PB are the cheapest for sellers to ship, but they'd do better profit wise if they'd just use USPS instead. In fact, Etsy needs to stop allowing shipping with this company altogether.
So I bought something from Amazon in the states. They shipped it via pitney bowes. I only have that tracking number, it says it in Toronto "Cleared customs process."
Anyone know if I will receive further tracking from pitney bowes? Or will they email me with a Canada Post number?
I generate my USPS mailing labels through Etsy, and I know that the tracking numbers don't work through USPS tracking, you have to use the Pitney-Bowes site.
My issue is that I dropped off a package at the post office I always use last week. It was a typical shipment like hundreds of others I've done. But it still says "pre-transit" as of 6 days ago. I went into the post office to try and get info on it, but the person at the desk wasn't helpful. He tried the tracking number which didn't work of course. My customer is wondering why his order is taking so long and I wanted to try and tell him something. I didn't know how else to explain to him. I brought another printout copy of the label I used for the shipment in question, and showed an identical package I was mailing that day with the same type of label, and he just kinda shrugged. 👍
It's weird how these labels move through the USPS system with tracking updates that can be seen through Etsy and Pitney-Bowes but can't be seen through USPS tracking (or by their employees). It seems like a wacky system, and sometimes customers freak out that the tracking number doesn't work. But it normally goes fine and I haven't ever had a package lost. I have a feeling this one will probably be fine eventually, but you never know.
I didn't want to be a Karen and get a supervisor involved at the post office, but if the package is in their possession and is being shipped by them, they should be able to tell me something. I'll probably go back again after work.
Does anyone else have experience or tips with physically tracking things down at least offices? Any jargon or terminology I need to use? Secret handshake?
My Santa has shipped my gift on the 8th of December and provided a Pitney & Bowes tracking code. However, the tracking status has stayed on 'Tracking Details Uploaded' ever since. Does anyone know what this means? Is it possible the shipping carrier hasn't received any parcel to send off?
I ordered a package on amazon and its going through this company called pitney bowes, anyone heard of them? I googled them quickly and it only has 1 star reviews, really hope i can get my package. My tracking says its late, which it is, any help people can give?
I have a box coming to me soon and the tracking for it is from "pitney bowes," a logistics/ shipping tracking company I've never heard of. Has anyone had any experience with this company because I read some reviews on Google and its left me wondering if I will receive anything at all 😅
I ordered something from a seller in Texas on Etsy. I live in Virginia. When they shipped the order, the info on the Etsy website said it was shipped via USPS even though the tracking number starts with 003, a Pitney Bowes tracking number. When I check for updates on the USPS website it says it’s invalid. Well of course it is; so why would Etsy say it’s shipped via USPS when it’s clearly not a USPS tracking number? How long should I expect to wait for my package? According to Pitney Bowes tracking, it was scanned as an origin scan in Coppell, TX on Thursday and hasn’t moved since.
So on the etsy app, the seller said it was “shipped by usps” but i checked the tracking number it was for pitney bowes. I checked the website and it says my package was marked delivered but i havent received it. This was my first time purchasing on etsy. I do know that pitney bowes is a shipping partner for USPS so i’m thinking pitney delivered it to the post office and that usps will be the one to deliver it. Is this true?
Let's just go ahead and add another level of madness to this season's shipping woes.
I contacted customer service again today looking for my BF order. They said my package is going to be delivered Monday. I'm looking at USPS and Pitney Bowes tracking and neither has an estimated delivery date and both say the package is still across the country in California. I questioned them on the info and they sent me a link to A SEPARATE PB TRACKING WEBSITE. What even.
Here's the tracking website that google sent me to: https://tracking.pb.com/
Here's the tracking website CS is using: https://pitneybowes.shipment.co/track/
FFF CS's tracker says my package has been in Atlanta at the USPS facility for days. USPS says this is not the case and my package is still in California, which is also what the other PB tracker is saying. I'm pretty sure CS is using this other tracking service because it's reporting where the package should be rather than where it is (something we know PB does). This way they don't have to replace my order. I trust when the USPS says they haven't received it, however I hope I'm wrong and my box magically shows up Monday!
Either way, fabfitfun hasn't been very fun this season, just incredibly stressful as I try to track down Christmas presents that will hopefully get here by the 24th (though I'm losing hope on that one).
When an item is shipped PITNEY BOWES. It gets to the USA, then takes weeks to get to destination. For me. It arrives in N.J. then it is shipped to Atlanta, then Jacksonville Fl. which is very close to me, then it goes to Orlando Fl. then back to Jacksonville, Fl. then to my local post office then to me.
Hi all - I switched to using Etsy’s labels nearly a year ago and have had minimal issues until recently. For reference, I ship out decals in envelopes and prints in flats - Etsy uses Pitney Bowes for items shipped in such packaging. Typically, I would drop items at the post, they would change in the system from “pre-transit” within a few hours and show tracking thru delivery. The only two issues I had were 1) sometimes the order is marked delivered a day or two before it arrived, and 2) items going missing occasionally.
Since the start of this month, I’ve used the labels to ship out over 200 orders. The issue: all are still marked pre-transit. I have customers wondering if I’ve even shipped their order and folks worrying about delivery dates. I’ve had a handful of people leave reviews for those items, so I assume some orders have been delivered and have just remained “pre-transit.”
I’ve spoken with a postal carrier—she indicated there isn’t a barcode on the labels that USPS would even scan. I’ve also read somewhere that Pitney Bowes doesn’t even guarantee tracking—just delivery confirmation.
Any idea what’s going on? Is this typical for other folks? How is everyone else explaining Pitney Bowes tracking to customers?
Update: so to those wondering. It was delivered to USPS then USPS delivered it to me.
Sorry, this is gonna be long and perhaps is coming out as jumbled, if so I'm sorry. Please don't hesitate to ask questions for clarity.
So, I've been waiting for a package coming from Tennessee (I'm in Cali) that I ordered through Mercari. It was mailed on the 11th. I've waited for updates and been checking the USPS website and it never updated. This is because Mercari said it trackable via USPS, I didn't realize this is inaccurate until my multi-courier tracking app notified me that it has been delivered and I'm like "huh?" This is when I saw that it was in fact through PB not USPS and that I should've been tracking via Pitney Bowes' site.
Mercari needs to be more clear about this.
Like I said, I've been using this tracking app and yesterday it showed that it was in West Sacramento (the main mail hub for Sacramento) and USPS's Informed Delivery showed that I have it coming today. I saw the actual envelope. The status has been "out for delivery" since 2am this morning.Well, I just got an alert from my tracking app stating it was delivered but the mail hasn't even been dropped off yet.
This isn't the first time this has happened either, I had a package from eBay showing that it was delivered "on the porch" and I couldn't find it anywhere, I reached out to the seller and he immediately refunded me and the following day, it shows up in my mailbox (yes I reached back out to him and paid him back). This was not a Pitney Bowes package though, it was delivered via DHL then handed off to the USPS to be delivered to my house.
So I'm confused. Does Pitney Bowes consider it delivered once the USPS has the package?
I ordered an item from EBay and it is using the global shipping program. The tracking number I was given was going to Pitney Bowes which has arrived in their facility. I called Pitney for a tracking number from their facility to mine but the guy on the phone was useless and told me to contact the seller which makes no sense. They have the package so they should be providing me the tracking.
Anyone have a similar experience and can tell me their experience how it went?
I ordered something from aliexpress a few weeks ago and it uses pitney bowes for the last carrier. The package apparently departed the pitney bowes facility in Los Angeles about a week ago I was just wondering how long should i wait before i contact customer support and how long the average pitney bowe shipping time is! I’m just a bit worried because the thing i ordered was a bit expensive
I’ve had stuff in the hands of Pitney for around a month. You know the game.
I received something Tuesday. That was being held forever. I ordered it 11-12-2020. 4.5 months. Very ridiculous. Other things can go faster but customer service will just lie and they can not say how long a package will sit in USA. I have contacted sellers about it and they told me Ali was not paying for the US shipping that's why it sat so long. I know of three times i opened a dispute and all of a sudden the package was moving again the very next day. BS my opinion.
I purchased shoes from the UK to the US through eBay gsp.
I looked up the tracking in the app and it said that the delivery was completed through pitney bowes, but it didn't arrive to me.
When I googled it, pitney bowes is a partner of usps, is this coming to me through usps?
When I looked up the tracking number of Pitney Bowes to usps, only the label was created, and it only says tracking that was not sent.
So, I asked eBay that I didn't receive the item, but I still haven't received a response. Has anyone had a similar experience with me?
Has anyone had a parcel delivered through this company from overseas? I’ve got a tracking number for Australia Post but nothing has moved with this number since 3rd June.
Pitney Bowes tracking says the parcel cleared customs on the 22nd June. Australia post hasn’t picked up the item and there are 0 updates. I’m getting super frustrated because I can’t get a straight answer from either companies.
I just want my ginger cat toy for my two year old.
Here is the reason why I asked those questions in the title of this post: Last week, I bought something off of eBay. After I bought the item, I received an Order Update email from eBay saying that my order has been shipped. When I opened that Order Update email, I noticed that it had a tracking number in it (By the way, I should note that before I received that email, I was informed by eBay right after I ordered my item that my item was going to be shipped by usps.).
Since I was informed by eBay that my item was going to be shipped by usps, I went to usps' package tracking page, typed in the tracking number of my item, and was greeted with an error message that says "Status not available. The tracking number may be incorrect or the status update is not yet available. Please verify your tracking number and try again later.". Here is a link to a screenshot of the error message: https://ibb.co/qR86ZYj
After I was greeted with that error message, I searched my error message up on Google and found out that my item may be done in the Pitney Bowes system instead of the normal usps system.
The tracking number of the item I bought off of eBay is 20 numbers long and starts with a 0.
Do Pitney Bowes tracking numbers start with a 0? Also, how long are Pitney Bowes tracking numbers?
Any time I send envelopes using Etsy, it prints Pitney Bowes shipping labels. I've had issues with Pitney Bowes marking the envelopes delivered before they're actually delivered. I asked my local post office what's going on? The supervisor said they can't help me because it's not a USPS tracking # and what I thought was a Pitney Bowes tracking barcode is actually the price of the stamp. She said they just throw those envelopes in a bin in the back to be sent to the sorting facility. I've called Pitney Bowes, but they'd just tell me to go to USPS and sort it out with them. I'm at a loss. Have y'all gone through anything similar?
