I'm curious about that cause I got a reconditioned 4a just like 2 months ago, and I'm totally in love with it, it's my first pixel and I have never felt so much pleasure using a smartphone, but I also know this model it's not getting more android updates but i think im okay with it because I love this phone, I plan to use it for the next 3 years maybe, do you think it will go well? Also I listened that the security patches will continue for two more years in addition to the 3 years of Android updates, do you know if this is true?

I haven't received any security updates since Aug 23. (4a 4g). Still a great phone.

I have the 4a5g and it is still going strong - no current plans to replace it. I don't think there's any commitment to further updates past Nov 2023, although there was some unexpected update about a month ago (I've no idea what that was for). If you look after the battery (don't constantly charge it to the max or let it run down to zero), and if it has been well cared for up to now, I don't see why it shouldn't last 3 years.

I think the 4a 4g was the best sized A series phone that Google ever produced, using it since 2020 and its still just as good as it used to be, battery is degraded but its like 20$ to replace, the cameras are still excellent, i can't figure out any difference betn the 6 and that 4a, until you obviously pixel peep. But the biggest usp was the size, it was just what a phone size should be. I wish google to bring back this form factor again
