Update: Got the Pixel 5a month and a half ago. So far really happy with it. Impressed with snappiness and beautiful pictures. It's my first phone with wide angle camera and I love it, so much.
I also stream games a lot from Xbox cloud play and play some below mentioned games and so far with my usage I've never had issues with overheating and I'm definitely not holding myself back. Battery life is OK too, get 1 fully day on work days coming home with 35 - 25 % of battery and on weekends if I don't fool around and play a lot on my phone I can get 2 days.
Currently on Android 13. Nice to have all the latest updates quickly.

Hi everyone, I'm thinking about getting a "new" (used) phone, my current (Moto G6 Plus) is sometimes having issues:- restarting randomly,- getting slower when performing my daily tasks- I've "Compromised system integrity" when I tried to flash Pixel Experience to it so now NFC payments and Netflix is not working (Netflix apk downloaded from elsewhere than PlayStore works but it sucks to not being able to just normally update it).- with all apps being more storage hungry the 64 GB of this phone is simply not enough anymore.

My main use of phone:- visual media consumption (ebooks, movies, music)- lots of video calls and regular calls (Sound and picture quality is important)- photography (I take a lot of pictures, mostly outdoors, day and night, nature, cityscape, landscape, but also close up shots of small things, models, small mechanical parts etc.)- occasional gaming (Wild Rift, NFS, Real Racing, Minecraft) .

At first I was decided to go for the Pixel 5a because of:+ 3.5 mm Jack (My daily drivers are wireless buds but I still use 3.5 mm at home)+ proper speaker instead of speaker behind the glass (my work phone has this and I'm really not impressed, sound is bad, volume too and when using speaker to watch some content the vibration feels bit weird while holding the device - Sharp Aquos Sense 6)+ bigger battery.

But now I've been reading more reviews and comparisons I'm concerned about:- slightly bigger size than the Pixel 5 (although still a bit smaller than my current Moto G6 Plus)- Overheating issue of the 5a (The only time I saw a phone overheat was when I used my current work phone mentioned above to take some pictures outside on hot sunny day, my Moto G6 Plus never overheated or at least never showed any message like that and functioned well in all conditions so far)- according to some user reports ?the internals being very brittle? **causing the phone to die after experiencing even smaller impacts.**Does the above happen to most units or just some?

The Pixel 5 has some good points too:+ smaller size than the Pixel 5a+ reverse charging, wireless charging (although not sure if I would really practically use this)+ for now still the "Unlimited Google Photos" ?.Negatives:- above mentioned speaker behind the glass- smaller battery- no 3.5 mm Jack (EDIT: And apparently not all adapters from Type C to 3.5 mm jack work. Does anybody know about a 3.5 mm adapter that works and possibly also allows for simultaneous charging while listening to music (Type C to 3.5 mm & Type C) and is not a bulky brick?)

I found both Pixel 5 and Pixel 5a in about the same, good, condition, for roughly the same price with about 20 USD price difference between them (the 5 is more expensive) with no box, no accessories.

Which phone would you recommend me? What is your experience with one or another?
