Should I buy Canon Pixma iP8720? (Graphic Design Student)

The iP8720 has only adds and gray and a second black ink, to the standard set of CMYK inks, for a total of 6 ink colors. If you're shooting for color accuracy and photo-realism, I think the PIXMA Pro 100 is a much better printer with it's 8 ink system which has a lighter "photo" shade for each of the four primary colors. You also get Ethernet on the Pro 100 which can significantly faster than trying to print large photos over wireless. Additionally, you can print to up to 13x26" on the Pro 100 through an undocumented process, see link below... I’m thinking of buying a PIXMA iP8720 to make posters and stickers, what are your experiences?

That’s the printer, I currently use for art prints, and generally I like it. It has a high amount of detail compared to some Epsons I also tried out. My only real complaint is that compared to the canon PIXMA I had before it (from 2004) this one isn’t quite as nice. They added an additional ink cartridge and removed the paper storage bay.
