Such software exists, often called "transpilers". But typically they have niche uses and aren't always as useful as you'd imagine, because there is a huge difference between translating to another language legally, and translating idiomatically. Some good fairly modern examples are Python's 2to3, various Fortran to C translators, the Typescript compiler, which "compiles" to Javascript, etc. But often when people ask this they think they're going to magically convert a big codebase from two very different languages with surface similarities, say, C++ to Java (an extremely common wish). The problem in cases like this is that the languages can't actually express the same things, can't use the same libraries, don't have the same I/O capabilities, etc. So at best you're going to get a rough, buggy, opinionated translation. Think about Google Translate. It's not THAT bad between, say, English and French, but between English and Chinese or vice-versa it's pretty laughable. Ultimately you should probably make sure you understand what you are trying to accomplish. A transpiler is a cool technology, but is often the wrong answer to an XY problem. More on reddit.com

Is this “correct” how? It depends on how you are trying to use the word. It does mean “advanced”, but in the sense of “progressed” or “having reached a certain point of development.” I don’t recommend ever translating single words like this and expecting an accurate answer.
