Wedding day comes, I am an anxious ball of energy. I can't enjoy getting ready, nothing is going right and I just wanted it all to be over. I go downstairs and the escort wall is wrong, names misspelled, the welcome sign is done horribly, and the table decor was NOT what we discussed.

Do I use formal or common names for my place cards? Fairly fancy, garden wedding. Seated, coursed dinner. IE, Gerald or Jerry?
I’d personally use everyone’s preferred names versus opting for formal names. I think guest comfort is more important than the place cards looking fancy. Maybe check in with individuals over their preference? More on reddit.com

I don’t understand the point of purposely putting the wrong name on the place cards? As someone with a different surname than my husband, I think that would make things more confusing. Plus, if I was invited to your wedding and you got my name wrong on my place card I would be offended. I would think, “I’m close enough to be invited but you don’t even know my name?” More on reddit.com
