I just started sharing a work-from-home office with my girlfriend and need a headset with a noise-cancelling mic for when our meetings conflict.

backstory

I don't have trouble tuning her out, so I don't really need noise-cancelling headphones.

But the microphone on my current headset is way too sensitive and it picks up not only if she's talking, but even if she's typing or shifting in her chair.

I've searched Amazon high and low for headsets with noise-cancelling mics. Mostly what comes up is noise-cancelling headsets.

Finally I found a handful and have tried them one-by-one. Only to be highly disappointed.

The best of the batch was a a Poly Voyager 5200 Bluetooth headset, but had 2 major drawbacks:

1) while it blocked out background noise (lawnmower outside, light music) it still picked up her voice when she was talking. This alone is a deal-killer

2) it was one of those "over the ear" models, which I thought I would like, but came to hate because I wear glasses and it would end up just loosely hanging from my ear, like if I moved or swung my head too fast, it would fly off.

A near-perfect solution

My girlfriend finally mentioned that the Poly Blackwire 3325 she uses at work has trouble picking up her voice if she tilts the mic up and away from her mouth.

So she brought it home and I ran some tests with her talking, typing and even playing music in the background.

It is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. It literally picks up NOTHING other than my voice.

The only problem is that it's a wired headset.

MY REQUEST

Has anyone found a Poly headset that is just like the Blackwire 3325:

a) over the head

**b)**headphones for both ears

c) boom mic that LITERALLY only picks up what's right in front of it
