I understand that you facing issues with sound outputs from new headset
In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:
- What is the make and model of your PC?
- Is the headphone connected through USB cable or via Bluetooth?
- Is it happening while playing any music saved locally on PC, playing online videos or during online meetings?
Meanwhile, I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and check if the issue persists:
Method 1: Run audio troubleshooter
- Click on Start Menu.
- Type Troubleshooting on search box and click on Troubleshooting.
- Then click on View All on the left panel of the Screen.
- Click on Playing Audio and Recording Audio at a time.
- Click on Next and follow the prompts to run the troubleshooter.
Method 2: Reset defaults
- On the taskbar, right click on Speaker Icon and select Open sound settings
- At the bottom, click on App volume and device preferences
- Adjust the volume for specific apps or click on Reset to Reset to the Microsoft recommended defaults

Hi Vineet and thank you.
It's an HP Laptop CF 14xx.
Headphone via USB.
Only tested it via streamed audio or video; so music, soundscapes, video.
I've done the 2 troubleshoots you suggested.
Please note- using my wireless headset does not have the same problem, it's just the Plantronics.
