September 28, 2018 - I chose to make my kitchen two different colors, gray and white: Krylon White Gloss (for my gray I actually used Annie Sloan’s chalk paint in French Linen because that’s what I had, along with clear wax and this brush, but you can use gray spray paint. This chalk spray paint in country gray looks similar to the French Linen color we used.) Metallic Spray Paint and/or black spray paint (This is for the sink, edge of the stove, accessories bar, hooks & faucet)

January 10, 2022 - We covered the entire surface of the kitchen with contact paper, as well as the inside of the cabinet on the right, in order to protect the kitchen from water spills. I was shocked by how easy this was once we bought all of the right supplies. (You can scroll down to see a full supply list at the bottom of this post.) First, we bought a water dispenser, which comes with a long tube/hose. We charged it, then threaded the tube through one of the holes that was conveniently already drilled into the IKEA kitchen.

July 24, 2025 - I was able to use a lot of items we already had for Nova’s kitchen. The stand mixer and espresso maker were gifts she received last Christmas (I painted them to match) and the play food (similar here) was a shower gift that we used in her outdoor space all summer. The plush vegetables in the basket are from IKEA, as well. We stored more play food and more plates and accessories in the cabinet.

September 24, 2020 - We used the Ikea “DUKTIG” play kitchen. Here is the cool thing about this kitchen: it is height adjustable! The legs have a few different options for height based on whether or not you use the plastic bases that are included as well as which side you use. So this kitchen can go from baby to preschooler easily. ... We did aqua with rose gold accents. We needed 3-4 cans of aqua, 2 cans of rose gold, and 1 can of chalkboard paint. The kitchen comes with all you need but we chose to swap out the handles with real drawer pulls for effect.

July 17, 2021 - I bought two small things for myself (a throw and a colander) and the rest of the suitcase was jam packed with kitchen accessories and clothes for Story haha! Most of the things you see here are from Sostrene Grene or Dille & Kamille . They are the cutest shops and are worth an extra-long layover in Amsterdam. Both are a 5- 10 minute walk from Amsterdam central station. If you can only make it to one, do Sostrene Grene. I did mini tours of the stores and went in depth about what I bought from where in my “Amsterdam” and “kitchen” highlights.

July 17, 2024 - After looking at a lot of play kitchens online and not finding anything I was willing to place square in the middle of my living room, we landed on the DUKTIG kitchen from IKEA. It’s affordable and essentially a blank slate – perfect for customization! We debated colors and styles for a long time before deciding on anything for sure. I really wanted the accessories to be gold, and Corey really wanted it to be something other than white or gray.
