First of all, congrats on the analysis, this takes time and I appreciate it. I would be curious to know how much time you spent playing the games you bought a la carte. Here's why: you didn't play the Extra games for many hours, most of the time, and a lot of them are big games like Blue Prince, Wolfenstein, Dragon Quest, etc. So here's my question: are these games you tried from a wishlist, or did you download them on a whim? The reason I ask is that the purchase is really only the price of entry. You can spend $30 on a game and spend 1 or 100 hours with it. You could theoretically play 10 minutes of every game in the catalog and claim you've saved thousands. If the games were indeed in your wishlist, even if you ended up not liking them, it means you saved money you would otherwise have spent. But if they weren't, it's likely you wouldn't have bought them, so the 'saving' there is more questionable. Of course, there's still value in having options out of your comfort zone. I put 40 hours into Shadowrun Dragonfall, a game I never would have bought otherwise. Same with Blue Prince, Inscryption, and a few others in fact. But that's the thing, I actually played them a bunch. If all you're doing is playing many games 5 hours or so, and dropping them, it may be the case that the service is not worthwhile for you. Unless, of course, that's a pattern you have with all games, including the ones you bought a la carte, which then means the service is great for you because you get to try a lot of stuff until you find something that sticks.
