Hi!!! I’m new to this subreddit/ community (f25) and I don’t really know what to say but I’m nervous. I have been plus sized a majority of my life, i lost a lot of weight at the end of highschool but in college I fractured my spine, developed a chronic pain disorder and gained the weight back because I can’t work out without pain anymore. I recently got invited to my favorite cousins wedding, we were best friends through childhood but lost touch over the years because our lives went in massively different directions! Now that she’s getting married I am so excited to see her again and don’t want to embarrass myself at her wedding so I’m looking for a dress. I really really want to look my age and I don’t want to embarrass myself but every single dress I have looked at or tried on made me look at least 10 years older and way significantly shorter because they were all at my knees or longer (I’m only 5’0). I just want to look good and hot and not inappropriate but also not older than I am. I’m HOPEFULLY looking for a black wrap around dress similar to one that looked great on me (even before I gained the weight back I had the same build I’m just wider now, I know the dress still looks good on me because I tried it on and it’s extremely stretchy but it’s unwearable in public because it’s too revealing. I’ll post pics of the dress flat because I can’t find anything in my size that is even remotely similar (I’m looking for hopefully XL(if it’s very stretchy)- 1X of anything even remotely similar or honestly any website that sells cocktail- semi formal +sized dresses that won’t make me look older than I am. I’m looking generally for a black mini wrap dress with long sleeves that accents the waist and drapes over my hips but any age appropriate suggestions are more than welcome. Honestly I just need help and I don’t know where else to look. Hope to hear back soon :)
