Around Christmas I ordered a couple dresses from eshakti that I’m excited to wear later this year (they were having a rare sale at the time). With eshakti you can customize things like neckline/sleeves/length. I would measure and go by their size guide: normally I’m a 16/18 but ended up ordering size 22, which was slightly depressing but ended up fitting great. I didn’t go the evening gown route, but I’ve seen quite a few when shopping with my mom for her dress. I would start somewhere like Nordstrom (or Rack) or Saks (or Off 5th). It may also be worth looking at the evening gown section of David’s Bridal because they do tend to have a lot of options in plus sizes.
