Congratulations on your graduation and clerkship! I’ve had fairly good luck finding decent suits at Ann Taylor. If you are near a department store (or can order online), I’ve also found good affordable suiting at Macy’s with Calvin Klein, Anne Klein and similar brands. I typically buy staples, like black and gray jackets, pants and skirts that I can mix and match to get the most bang for the buck. More on reddit.com

Hello lawyer ladies! I just graduated from law school and have a clerkship starting in August. As a graduation present, my Aunts gave me $200 to get a nice suit for work and to look "lawyer like". Most of my current suits are either from Amazon, garage sales, or Goodwil (not hating though, I have gotten some good suits at the Goodwill). I want to get a nice suit, within the $200 range given to me by my Aunts. What is the best place to find a nice plus-size women's suit within that price range?

Anyone have recs for suits for us bigger gals? Preferably somewhere I can shop in person in nyc but online works too. I feel like bigger sizes just make suits look boxy and I want to look professional but cute!!

Lafayette 148 - their straight sizes go up to an 18/XXL and their plus sizes to a 24W/3X. Sometimes you can find it in Nordstrom but it may not be in person St John - up to an 18 Universal Standard - up to a 40, more casual but still worth a look. I’d also take a look at J Crew, they have up to a 24/3X. If you can get away with a slightly more casual look, highly recommend their sweater blazers. I also have a couple of their lady jackets and like those as well Sometimes you can find something at Banana Republic, up to a 20/XXL but I’ve had better luck with dresses there than suits
