Quick Pre-Flop Odds Reference
Had some downtime at work, and have been working on this quick reference for pre-flop hold'em odds, with different tables and odds for 2-9 players. The percentage refers to the odds that you'll end up with the best hand after all is said and done. Obviously you'll have to tailor your play based on how others play the hand, the cards on the table, etc. but I find that it's really helpful to show you what is a viable hand to play at different stages of a tourney. Green shaded cells show you when (in my opinion) it's a good idea to play a hand. I include more hands based on the number of players at the table. So for instance, if there are 4 players at the table, the top 25% of hands are in green. Also interesting to note that suited cards in your hand matter less and less with fewer players at the table. I thought this was interesting and hadn't heard this before. Notice how the bottom 50% of hands is mostly in the "offsuit" table when you're playing with 9 players, but the bottom 50% of hands is pretty much evenly split between offsuit and suited when playing with only two players. Hope this helps you! More on reddit.com
Question: Pre-Flop Hand Odds
Those charts don't look to be particularly useful for hold 'em, because your opponents will almost certainly not put money in the pot with any random two cards. Raw equity only matters if you can get to showdown with a hand. So hands like Q5o are total garbage because their playability is horrible, even though they have some raw equity

August 4, 2019 - And a pocket-pair vs a higher unpaired hand is 50/50. And versus just one higher card is 70/30. ... If you understood all that then comparing unpaired cards is even easier. Two high unpaired cards has a 65/35 edge against two low cards. It varies by a few percent but generally it’s 65/35. Whether it’s AK vs 4J or K9 vs 78. It’s always 65/35. Unless you stepped on one of their cards. Like AK vs KQ. That gives AK a 75/25 edge. So shoving all in pre-flop with AK assuming that nobody has Aces or Kings is at worst 50/50 against all lower pocket pairs.
