Just got a message from Namecheap. Might have to drop some domains. Anyone else see these increases?
Hi, I want to buy a .id domain and those in the photo are the prices on Gandi and Porkbun.
I'm fine with paying $180+ for the first purchase, but the annual renewal price should remain around $20 and not $200+
Obviously now I would buy it on Porkbun, but my fear is that after the first year or later Porkbun will ask me for $200+ in renewal. The price difference is too high, and other sites like Name(dot)com also list the renewal price as $200+.
I own domains on both Gandi and Porkbun, and Gandi in general seems more expensive to me, and opinions on Reddit are often in favor of Porkbun as well, but this difference seems strange to me. Have you ever experience something like that?
Ps. "rufe" is not the real domain, but the prices are right.
So, I had a frustrating experience with Namecheap. They simply tripled the renewal price of my .com domain. I thought about transferring the domain and buying another one I need at Porkbun, but do they also have this kind of trick? Will they suddenly raise the price 3, 4, or 10 times? In my case, the price tripled in 1 year. Or is it better to just go with Cloudflare?
If anyone has experience with these domain registration sites, please clear this doubt for me.
