Hey Everyone,
Happy Friday. Is anyone else experiencing issues with the portal.office.com site? Looks like the connection is up and down and I can't even get to the page to download the office apps. The page doesn't fully load and none of the links or buttons works. Tried multiple machines, browsers, networks, and tenants so I'm guessing this is on Microsoft's side.
Does it matter which I use? Can't find anything on future changes or EOL to portal. Should I just use Office.com for staff?
Use office.com it has a nicer lead in page and is better for staff/users. Portal takes you to a generic office 365 login page which could confuse some users.
Sometimes the devil is in the details and this is a little detail that I think is important.
I learned this lesson a while back... I used to teach people portal.office.com and while it gives you that immediate login box ; a lot of people were un-trusting of that box.
you send them to office.com and a lightbulb goes off for the end user... We sysadmins might be after the shortcut but something we have to look at it from the end-user perspective and office.com is MUCH better from that perspective. They get it!
again, a small detail but an important one.
