I have some thoughts on this. Magazine style is pretty pointless in this day in age unless you are going to print it or present it on a tablet in person. Most people are going to be looking at your portfolio before they meet you in person on either a phone, a laptop, or a monitor, so you should cater to that. After years of experimenting with different sizes and trying to come up with a universal format (usually made in InDesign) that I could publish on Behance, send as a PDF, and also send out as a link, I have landed on Google Slides. I work as an industrial designer for a large tech firm and we exclusively work in Google slides. What it lacks in some traditional powerpoint features it makes up for in others. Google slides supports high quality .pngs and .jpegs, typically up to 4000-4500px wide at 300 dpi 2) You can download as a powerpoint or pdf (I download as PDF and compress it for size to send in emails) 3) Google slides supports auto-playing, looping, animated gifs (this is a showstopper and really brings your designs and renders to life whether it is a product animation or UI) 4) You have complete control over link sharing, most employers can access Google links easier, can also make different versions for different audiences 5) YOU WILL NEVER LOSE YOUR WORK So I have multiple versions of my work: Still (for email), animated (presentations and link sharing), and some with different projects. I made mine in google slides. Most interviews are done sharing screen these days so its just the easiest / I find you can make changes really quickly. Can be simply exported as a pdf as well. Its less customizable than indesign etc, but my portfolios are mostly simple in layout, relying more on the images themselves (which were edited in photoshop). More on reddit.com
