While Paperchase’s stores around the country are in the final throes of closing-down sales, with all 100+ standalone shops and concessions preparing to shut, some quick work by the Postmark retail group has seen it win the tender to take on the five outlets in Network Rail sites – in London’s Victoria Station, London Bridge, Waterloo, and Kings Cross plus Birmingham New Street – as well as the Paperchase unit in Battersea Power Station and two other stores.

The outlet in Northcote Road, Battersea, marks the 13th site for the group in the capital – Balham, Battersea Power Station, Blackheath, Chiswick, East Dulwich, Greenwich, Kings Cross, London Bridge, Richmond, Waterloo, Wimbledon, and Victoria ...

The Postmark sign has been raised above the doors in Battersea Power Station, as well as in King’s Cross, London Bridge, Waterloo and the Birmingham train station sites in April alone, and a store in Victoria railway station is soon to follow along with one in Richmond, plus the Glasgow site, which will take it to 14 stores with its current outlets in London’s Balham, Blackheath, Chiswick, East Dulwich, Greenwich, and Wimbledon.

The new Battersea store is the first stage in Postmark’s expansion to more than double its current seven-strong estate by taking over eight prime sites left vacant by the collapse of the Paperchase chain – the five Network Rail outlets in London’s Victoria Station, London Bridge, Waterloo, and Kings Cross plus their first venture outside the capital in Birmingham New Street, along with the Battersea unit and two other stores.

July 14, 2023 - Network Rail has welcomed independent greeting card retailer Postmark to five of its 20 managed stations across Britain. Totalling over 3,755sq ft of retail space, Postmark has taken the opportunity to open stores for the first time within Network Rail’s estate following the administration of Paperchase earlier this year. The first store to open was London King’s Cross followed by London Bridge, London Waterloo, Birmingham New Street and London Victoria this summer.

February 6, 2025 - Family-owned business, Postmark, opened its first store in Balham in the early 2000’s supplying locals with high end cards, gifts, and stationery. It established a foothold in South London by opening a further three stores over the next 10 years in East Dulwich, Chiswick and Greenwich. Hatch first started working with Mark and Leona (the owners) in 2019, and in the years that followed Postmark grew from 4 to 14 stores. We secured sites in some of the highest footfall locations in London, like Victoria, King’s Cross and London Bridge Stations as well as some of the most famous, like Battersea Power Station.

October 20, 2025 - A special or rare postmark can substantially add to the value of a stamp. For example, on a Victorian cover sold at auction for £8,000 in 2019, a Two Penny Blue stamp "was upstaged by" a rare 'sun' date stamp.
