Another voice in the crowd chanting avoid Pottery Barn, West Elm and Williams Sonoma furniture! In spring 2022, I ordered a custom sofa in a store with a 12 week ETA. After 18 weeks, I received an email indicating my sofa was delayed another 8 weeks. I hustled my ass over to the store and requested they cancel the order. The sales rep had to call into some corporate support line and told me it was cancelled - I requested proof and she said they’d email me. Suddenly 48hr later I was charged the full price of the sofa. Over the course of three calls into corporate support, I was told I’d be refunded the cost. Nope, nope, and the 4th call I was told I would only receive a percentage refunded because the sofa already shipped. The kicker was some “support” employee who kept generically emailing me with offers of support who NEVER ONCE replied to any of my comms. Armed with phone records and emails, I disputed this bullshit so hard and my credit card company immediately temp refunded me, promptly investigated and the store manager and corporate office called me trying to bully me into submission. I never hung up so fast and the wrote a sternly worded letter to Williams Sonoma’s legal department (don’t contact me again) and sent it certified mail. My credit card company ruled in my favor. I feel like PB has always been overpriced for what you get - they were so popular when I bought my house years ago. I did buy a couple things there but was not impressed. I bought one of those entry storage combos that was so popular. It did not last. It was always branding, not quality. Once you use Google Lens, you figure out there aren't that many really solid manufacturers. Just wildly inflated prices from site to site. Really expensive but worth the money --- Room and Board. Everything I have bought there is high quality and the service impeccable. Also Lamps Plus for lamps is the best. Always happy with their stuff - more expensive but again, quality.
