Specify Consistent Colors in Multiple Shape Charts in Power BI Paginated Report - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
December 1, 2025 - For example, if point 2 has a value of zero, point 1 will be mapped to the first color in the palette, and point 3 will be mapped to the second color in the palette. This approach is useful because the empty points in the dataset of a pie chart do not unnecessarily use a palette color when the empty point does not need to be drawn.

By default they should match, however, if you’re manually setting the colours then they won’t. Perhaps try the Format Painter? More on reddit.com

How to change the color of a bar chart (or any chart) in PBI?
Depends on the type of chart. It may be under “Bars” or “Columns”. If you are using stacked bar chart then you will have to choose which field to apply to in order to see option for Color. When “All” it is not available. Meaning conditional formatting is also not available in that case. More on reddit.com

Use report themes in Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
February 23, 2026 - If you change to a different theme, that data point's color automatically updates to the third color of the top row in the new theme. This behavior is similar to changing themes in Microsoft Office. If you prefer a visual to not automatically update, don't use a theme color by going to more colors in the color palette. To return any visual to the theme colors, choose reset to default in the visual's formatting pane. When a visual has a series, Power BI applies colors in the order they appear in the theme's data colors.

r/PowerBI on Reddit: How to change the color of a bar chart (or any chart) in PBI?
March 3, 2024 -

Very basic question but I can't seem to find the option to do this anywhere.

I have a bar chart I am currently working on but can't seem to locate the option to change the color of the actual bars in the chart. Seems like I can change the color of the text, background, etc. Everything else but the actuals bars.

All the videos I have seen on this appear to be outdated and the options they use are no longer available. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
