Hi all! First time parents. We’re discussing how expensive the nice recliners are like the Babyletto kiwi and the dream swivel. Everyone seems to really recommend them though. We got a floor model LaZboy on sale for $800, still not cheap but I was seeing gliders in baby stores for over 2k. Honestly being more expensive doesn’t equal to being any more comfortable. I have sat in the chair at least once a day since getting home from the hospital, I am currently sitting in it now while my daughter is asleep on me. I also find that most furniture stores have better warranties than baby stores or brands.

I have been looking all over for a comfy, high quality recliner/glider for our nursery that can be transitioned to another room after baby is done with it. I finally landed on the Pottery Barn Dream Chair. (Not looking for opinions on ordering from PB - I know the risks :))
My question is: for those of you who have a power recliner, is it worth it? Or is it gimmicky? I’ve heard from other parents that the manual can often be too much of a jolt when holding baby and then hard to close when you go to stand up. Does anyone have perspective on this?
Bonus points if anyone also has recos on which fabric to order for durability. Leaning towards the light gray brushed cross weave as it’s super soft (but as of now only in stock on the manual recliner)

Electric is so much easier to close. Manual you have to use more force which isn't fun to do when worried about waking a sleeping baby and it's def louder. I would go with electric.
