Request for information: Is Pratt Institute worth it?
My opinion. No. Pratt is not worth it. It's very expensive. It may be a great school and you could love it. But at the end of the day, the tuition is not worth the next 10 years in debt. I've heard their program is way too conceptual. It could hurt you getting a job. Also, if you don't already know, architects make little money, have a lot of responsibility/liability and also work 24/7. Hope I'm not too much of a downer. More on reddit.com

if you don’t know if you would 100% commit to studying art or Communications Design, I would suggest you not come to Pratt but normal unís. At there you would have more options. But yes, you would learn a lot, either by yourself or from your professors, at Pratt to a point where double major is impossible. More on reddit.com

March 8, 2025Pratt Institute- worth the hype?
All of the Pratt alumni I know are in the types of jobs in the arts that they wanted (design, film, photography, architecture). Seems like graduates do well in their fields. I would ask people on your target field about their opinions of the schools -- they certainly have them. The area is nice and gives you the NYC experience and Manhattan access without having to live in Manhattan, which in undergrad can be a massive distraction from actually working (and ultra expensive in its own right) More on reddit.com

99 times out of a hundred it won’t matter. The 1 time it does will be if your potential employer went to the same school, so I suppose you should factor that in. More on reddit.com
