Thoughts on Pride & Prejudice (2005) directed by Joe Wright?
I loved it. The score is incredible, that opening streadicam shot through the house that introduces you to the family is gorgeous and let's you know that you're in for something different, and their confrontation in the rain was super memorable. It feels like verging on an art film but not quite, and Keira is great in it. I've never even read Jane Austen and I've seen this movie maybe three times. I love the scene where the girls are lounging around in the heat and then the boys show up and when they're let in it cuts back to the girls sitting up looking prim and proper. Hilarious. All around a super fun and emotional movie. I loved it. And again, great music. More on reddit.com

It was a really beautiful looking movie, the cinematography was really good, and i do think it was a really good movie, but and people may disagree with me on this, i don't think it was a good adaption. The characters also felt more like modern people than, people from the late 1790s early 1800s.
I think the actors where good, but i did not really belive any of them where the characters they portrayed.
It also felt very rushed, probably because i am used to watching the 1980 and 1995 adaptions, which is almost 5 and 6 hours long.
But i give it an 7.5/10 (which in my 10 star rating system means i think it was very good)

I don't think you're gonna get much disagreement on this. You've pretty much summed up the most popular issues people have with this adaptation. Too modern. Rushed. Not reflective of the characters as depicted in the books. I liked it. A whole lot, actually. But, to me, it focused more on the feelings and hormones of the characters and definitely skewed modern. I thought the actors did a really good job, too, with the material they were given. It was a really decent movie, but to appreciate it, you have to ignore all the parts of the book that are not a romantic comedy... which is a lot. And then I also remember that the director never read the book before filming.
