INFORM Act and Amazon seller's privacy
To all participants CAUTION: ecomm forums are constantly targeted by spammers and scammers. Common ruses include the helpful-guru-scammer, use of alt accounts to decieve, and the "my friend can help" switcharoo. Do not respond to DM / PM / message requests even if it seems helpful or free. Do not click links people offer for their own services, apps, videos, etc. especially links to documents, downloads, and unclear urls. Report scam attempt private messages. Most questions are addressed by Amazon's Seller Policies and Code of Conduct , their FAQ , and their Amazon Seller University video course Subreddit FAQ topics - Beginner help / Arbitrage or Walmart / Suspended account / Fees / Product codes / Brand concerns / Freight / Guides, courses, and tutorials The sub promotion rules are strict and enforced (especially VAs, consultants, app devs, freight forwarders, and others targeting sub participants) A violation will result in a ban. DO NOT attempt to drive traffic to something of yours, otherwise promote, hype yourself, or lead generate anywhere in this sub outside the Community Promotion Post . Additionally, DO NOT ask others here to PM / DM / offline contact you Correcting common myths and misinformation Arbitrage / OA / RA - It is neither all allowed nor all disallowed on Amazon. Their policies determine what circumstances are allowable and how it has to be handled by the seller. "First sale doctrine" - This is often misunderstood and misapplied. It is not a blanket exception from Amazon policies or a license to force OA allowance in any manner desired. Arbitrage is allowable but must comply with Amazon policies. They do not want retail purchases resold on their platform (mis)represented as 'new' or their customers having issues like warranties not being honored due to original purchaser confusion. For some brands and categories, an invoice is required to qualify and a retail receipt does not comply. Receipts and invoices - A retail receipt is NOT an invoice. In cases where an invoice is required by Amazon, the invoice MUST meet Amazon's specific requirements. "Someone I know successfully used a receipt and...", well congratulations to them. That does not change Amazon's policies, that invoice policy enforcement is increasing, and that scenarios requiring a compliant invoice are growing. Target receipts - Some scenarios allow receipts and a Target receipt will comply. For those categories and ungating cases where an invoice is required, Target retail receipts DO NOT comply with Amazon's invoice requirements. Someone you know getting away with submitting a receipt once (or more) does not mean it's the same category or scenario as someone else, nor does it change Amazon's policies or their growing enforcement of them. Paid courses and buyer groups - In most cases, they're a scam. Avoid. Amazon's Seller University is the best place to start. I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Protect your personal information!
I think Amazon scrapes metadata off photos for you, at least on review photos...or they SHOULD. Now I'm curious if that's the case (will update this with findings). Edit: Yes, a lot of the EXIF metadata gets pruned, even including the device the photo was taken with, and the images get resaved/renamed. More on reddit.com

r/AmazonSeller on Reddit: INFORM Act and Amazon seller's privacy
March 23, 2024 -

I have an LLC with a business address and a business bank account, but applying to sell on Amazon requires me to give them my personal ID/info along with the business bank account info. A few questions about that:

  1. The INFORM Act says it will give buyers my name and address. Will my personal name be given out/publicized somewhere? I will be selling my own products manufactured in-house, nothing risky/shady, but I do want to keep my name separated from my LLC as much as possible for privacy (I actually have a holding company LLC and an operating company LLC arrangement that keeps my name out of the public database. If Amazon just gives out my company name that's OK.

  2. My bank account statement just has my LLC name and business address listed, not my own name or personal information. Is this, along with my personal ID, sufficient for Amazon verification?

  3. Out of curiosity, how do big companies with a lot of employees do this? Does the employee tasked with managing the amazon sales account just give their personal ID and information on behalf of the company? What if they quit and leave the company?

Your name and address associated with your account is always public info on your seller page . Unless it’s your literal house where live then You’re over thinking it . Then I would say find a way to get a virtual address or P.O. Box address
