I’ve been playing Prominence 2 with my cousin for a few days now and I was finally starting to unpack some of the quests related to tech and everything as storage was becoming an issue, but it seems like I literally can’t craft the power cables from Powah? EMI tells me the only possible way to attain them is by breaking one and picking it up, and when I found the recipe online and tried to brute force it, the cable won’t craft. Any tips on how to fix this problem? Thank you in advance

If you want to enable them, go to config inside your Minecraft game folder. There you will find folder called blockswap and inside it there is block_swap.json5 open it and delete the lines that swap powah cables. To enable recipes, edit JSON file called item_obliterator.json5, it's in config folder as well

I think I figured it out partially, it seems if I spawn them they turn into Industrial Revolution cables when they drop so I guess the modpack intends for you to use them? But there’s a whole quest line for the Powah cables so I still think I’m getting an error

So I've been scratching my head on this for the past hour.

Just starting into Powah with some basic generators to power my AE2 system. And looks like basic universal cables are just nowhere in the game (a previous reddit thread claims they are just not in the crafting book but are still craftable through JEI and that is NOT the case, you cannot make them even manually on the latest patch).

Previous comments from like a year ago say to use tech reborn cables, which are like the tin/copper/insulated copper - which do not attach to my generators or to fluix cables or transfer any energy to/from my ME controller.

The only other cables I see at all in JEI are the MI cables which require rubber sheets which I'm nowhere near tech-ing yet. And, obviously, fluix/smart cables do not connect to any Powah generators (like my starter magmator)

I'm completely lost as to how I'm meant to connect power from a source (magmator, wind generator, eventually a reactor) to any of my systems that need power (AE2 for starters)

Is this just... a massive oversight on the recently disabled basic cables? Am I missing something really stupid? I'm sitting here ingame trying to attach everything I can build to my magmator and nothing is connecting or transferring any power.

Slightly late and maybe not the answer you're looking for but I ended up adding Modern Dynamics which is the cable mod for Modern Industrialization (which is in the pack). Dunno why they don't have it in the pack already but it adds fluid pipes, item pipes, and power cables that are just like the ones from Thermal Dynamics and work with all of the machines I have tried so far.

This drove me crazy as well. Based on the disabled items in the configs, it appears that you are expected to use the power cables from Industrial Revolution (crafted with nikolite). I've seen from other comments that they were disabled due to lag. In Prominence 2 version 3.0.5, I kept getting bugs where my power would sometimes reset in my energy cells and the Industrial Revolution cables would not distribute energy unless they were broken and replaced. I eventually got tired of messing with them and enabled the Powah cables since I just play on an SP world. If you'd like to do that, go into your world save and open the config folder, navigate into the blockswap folder, and open the block_swap.json5 file with notepad to remove all of the lines at the bottom for Powah cables. Then go back to the config folder and open the item_obliterator.json5 file with notepad and remove all of the Powah cables from the disabled recipes towards the bottom and restart. Once you get AE2 up and running you can also use the Energy P2P tunnels to move energy through the network on a point to point level.

So I’m trying to download prominence 2 and I have no clue what is going on. I have forge, Java, optifine, and fabric API all downloaded and applied, but I have no clue what to do from here. I unzip the mod file but do I put it directly into my mods file in Minecraft? Do I open Minecraft with Forge or Fabric? Do I create an entirely new installation? Do I have to reinstall the mod because I didn’t have Java installed when I installed the mod pack? I literally have no idea what to do. YouTube videos aren’t helping and I can’t find any information on Prominence 2’s curseforge page.

"forge, Java, optifine, and fabric API" Well to start three of those things are not compatible. If it is a forge modpack use forge, take out the fabric api and optifine. If you want shaders use emedium and Oculus. If it is a fabric modpack install fabric and iris, indium and sodium for shaders. If you have the mods put them in your mods folder. If you just have the modpack zip use a modloader like prism (I prefer this one), multimc, curseforge or modrinth and import the pack so it will download the mods and everything you need. If you want to use the regular launcher you will have to manually download each mod in the pack. I highly suggest using a 3rd party launcher they are easier when using mods.
