Wish more people did this! There will be the rare occasion where the Google results pronunciation varies from how they say their name in their voicemail greeting. Regardless, it's something I jot down in the CRM for the next rep to know
(Sorry if i used the wrong flair) I have a super generic white name (Sarah) and i work in an inner city hospital with a lot of patients from different cultures. More than half of the time i am unsure how to pronounce a patients name when i have to call it loudly in the waiting room or when confirming identity. I have butchered so many names and most of the time the patient corrects me with a bit of attitude about it. Sometimes i ask right off the bat how to say their name before trying and they usually look at me like im dumb. And sometimes i try to say it first and just wait for the correction. Id like to hear from some people with commonly mispronounced names of if its rude or not to just ask how to say it before trying, or what the most polite way to go about it is.
Edit: thank you everyone for the kind advice:) i will give it a try
