Hey everyone,
I’m trying to find out which PS4 games have local co-op (same screen or split screen) but don’t support it on PC. It’s surprisingly hard to get clear information about this.
For example, Borderlands 3 has split-screen co-op on PS4, but the PC version doesn’t include any local option at all. Things like this really matter if you prefer playing side by side instead of online.
So I thought it would be useful to build a shared list. If you know any games that fit, please comment with:
the game name
what kind of local co-op it has (split-screen or shared screen)
what’s missing or different on PC
Once we have enough examples, I’ll update this post with a proper list so others can use it as a reference.
Thanks in advance to everyone who helps out — there are still a lot of people who enjoy proper couch gaming.

Are there any games out there I should try besides the list below?
It takes two, Unravel, A way out, Overcooked, Moving out 1/2, Borderlands 3, Earth Defence Force.
Of the list above she enjoys It takes two the most and didn’t mind borderlands 3. I personally like games like GTA, Cyberpunk and Far Cry 6, I’m wondering if there’s any split screen RPG or FPS out there that I haven’t come across. Currently we are playing COD 3 MW doing the campaign.
Any titles recommended will be appreciated! Many thanks!
Does anyone know of some couch coop games. Beyond just the usual like madden, cod, rocket league, fifa, it takes two. Seems like everything has been focused on first player recently. Would especially love some fps couch coop like black ops 3 campaign.
me and my roommate would love to try playing something together. So far we tried ARK on PS4 Split screen but it had disappointing quality
can be even some strategic games. maybe something like Heroes of might And magic.
Edit: aside from ARK And HOMAM we played:
It takes two Overcooked
We like to party and play those couch co-op type games. But we get bored playing the same games over & over. We like games such as worms, gang beasts, risk, golf with friends. Any suggestions?
Hi all, I haven't played console in many years so I have no idea what the good games are nowadays. My relative owns a PS4 and they've been wanting to play, so I thought I'd buy a game for us.
I am looking for:
-
PS4
-
local multiplayer (split screen or games where we are both on the screen e.g. FIFA, fighting games, etc.)
-
any genre
Hey I'm looking for co-op couch games that aren't cod. Me and my girlfriend played a way out last night and loved it but we want more. Are there any more good story ones?
Random question maybe and I'm not expecting many answers but I was recently playing cod black ops III storylines couch coop with someone who enjoys shooters but only with someone else. Aside from sports games are there any good couch coop games for the ps4 where you can play through the campaign together? I had mostly shooters in mind (thinking of an Xmas gift) but a racing type game would be fine too.
I of course know of the more popular ones like It Takes Two or Overcooked. Looking to see if there are any hidden gems that you enjoy
Any genre is ok. Just want to play games with my brother
Hey! Looking for some games to play with my GF. I always found it quite sad how little couch coop games are out there on consoles. Like that’s how we spent our child hood, it is so much more fun.
Anyway. We love Diablo 3, so something similar is appreciated. But we are open to anything!
Hello everyone!
I have a question regarding co-op games that I can play with my gf.
We have played games like Portal Knights, Minecraft and Ark. But we are looking for a new game since we are both getting tired of playing the above called games over and over again.
Do you lot have any suggestions for us?
This post can double as some recommendations too.
My husband and I love playing split screen games but the options are limited. We're not into overhead/top-down games like Baldur's Gate and while I like silly, light-hearted games like Untitled Goose Game, he wasn't really into it. I'm sure I'm missing a few but here's a list of what we've played.
It Takes Two
Split Fiction (for anyone who hasn't grabbed this game yet, huge recommend)
Sackboy
Rocket League
A Way Out
Cat Quest 2
Tiny Tina's Wonderland
Borderlands 3
Unraveled 2
All the Lego games
Biped
Overcooked
Moving Out
Brothers
Call of Duty/Zombies
Sonic Racing
Hot Wheels
Resident Evil 5
Untitled Goose Game
Outward
2K/NFL/UFC
Everybody's Golf
Smurfs: Village Party
Brawlhalla
Marvel Rivals
Jumanji
Anyone know any good ones I haven't found? Major bonus points for storyline driven rather than matches or pop-in style games.
E: Thanks for the recs, y'all are amazing!
I just found out about this game via some really in depth random comment on a subreddit. It was described as something like if “Diablo had a baby with Fortnite, but with zombies”. I immediately downloaded it so my partner & I could play together.
WOW. We’re like 6 hours in & only level 12; a crowbar is our strongest tool.
This game is fantastic. Everything about it is perfect for casual play. Super simple menus, easy to understand skill trees, straight forward controls, perfect balance of base micromanagement that doesn’t get annoying. Frustrating to the point of no end, but dying doesn’t seem to really matter. Weapons and tools don’t deteriorate over time. We share resources together and a single screen so we have to work together towards a common goal.
I am shocked it took us this long to learn about its existence. Very fun game. If you’re here trying to figure out if you should buy it - you definitely should. Honestly, it should be a no brainer addition for any “recommend me a good local coop for ps4” - up there with It Takes Two, Diablo 3/4, Stardew Valley, Overcooked, Moving Out, A Way Out for quality and enjoyable gameplay regarding local multiplayer.
If you want to add a game, please only reply with the game name and I will update the list as best as I can.
Note: these games are what I and other redditors think are the best, not all games.

Hi I was just wondering what are good couch co-op games for me and my girlfriend to play all throughout? Im currently subbed to the Extra tier, should I opt in to Premium to get a better list? thanks!
As the title says, just want more fun kind of pve games to play with my friends
Pretty much the title. My older sister dusted off her PS4 and what with there being a whole four of us 'kids' in the family we thought we'd try some couch co-op games.
Nearly anything goes I think, we've all got pretty broad tastes.
Or, if you can't think of a good couch co-op game, something that would be fun to pass the controller between the four of us between chapters or something. We used to do that with Uncharted 4 when we were teenagers, made for some fun backseat-driving experiences.
