GitHub - pybind/pybind11: Seamless operability between C++11 and Python · GitHub
Python's slice-based access and assignment operations can be supported with just a few lines of code. Everything is contained in just a few header files; there is no need to link against any additional libraries. Binaries are generally smaller by a factor of at least 2 compared to equivalent bindings generated by Boost.Python.

Python bindings
Python bindings should work fairly well on Mac and Linux, with one major caveat. If there are more than one version of python installed on the system, it is very likely that CMake will pick up the wrong one. As such, one should always verify that PYTHON_EXECUTABLE, PYTHON_INCLUDE_DIR, and PYTHON_LIBRARY (in "build/CMakeCache.txt", or via "ccmake") point to the right python and point to the same python.
