1. Embedding Python in Another Application — Python 3.14.7 documentation
Embedding provides your application ... one example would be to allow users to tailor the application to their needs by writing some scripts in Python. You can also use it yourself if some of the functionality can be written in Python more easily.

Examples of such implementations include the following: ... On the other hand, one can start with a full build, and simply remove unneeded modules, e.g., Tkinter, etc., to realize a reduced-size Python with little effort. Sometimes the embedded environment is just too restrictive to support a Python virtual machine.

Embedded Python: Build a Game on the BBC micro:bit – Real Python
July 3, 2026 - The BBC micro:bit is an embedded system designed for educational use. On board a micro:bit, there are lots of components, including buttons, a 5x5 LED screen, a speaker and microphone, an accelerometer, and a Bluetooth module. Unfortunately, the Bluetooth module is unusable with Python, but you can still use the radio directly. It’s programmable in Scratch, JavaScript, and most importantly, Python.

August 17, 2019 -
The last thread went over 'tests' and from my understanding, calculations for calibrations.
But I couldn't exactly picture situations, and where python is used in the development process.
Can anyone explain how you use Python in your embedded work, with a real situation?

Python for Embedded Systems–Ultimate Guide to Easy Projects
August 20, 2025 - Note: Python is not ideal for real-time, performance-critical code. For such cases, combine Python with C/C++ for hybrid development. This balance highlights python vs c for embedded systems considerations. Let’s create a simple LED blink program using MicroPython on an ESP32 board:

How to Program Embedded Systems Using Python?
June 16, 2023 - Python also provides control structures, such as if statements, for loops, and while loops. Both procedural and object-oriented programming paradigms are supported by Python. To program embedded systems using Python, you will need a development board or microcontroller that supports Python.

This roadmap reccomends learning python for embedded and I wondered what is python even used for in embedded, because almost all of the languages for embedded like C,Rust,Assembly are low level but python is the exact opposite. What is it used for ? Data analysis?

Understanding Python for embedded systems developers | by Ruvinda Dhambarage | Medium
January 18, 2022 - In practical terms, the biggest show stopper for Python on embedded systems is the extra memory that is required and NOT the execution speed. This might be surprising to hear for the uninitiated, but in terms of actual execution speed, Python will be very close to native application speed in most compute heavy scenarios. This is possible thanks to Python’s C backend which does the heavy lifting for compute heavy workload. For example, with OpenCV, when you call a method to transform an image; the actual number crunching doesn’t happen in Python bytecode, but in the package’s statically linked C lib implementation.

Python vs. C/C++ in embedded systems | Opensource.com
August 29, 2016 - Python libraries are thriving—PyPI, the Python package index, has over 80,000 modules, and these massive compendiums dramatically increase the productivity of programmers by giving them the option to skip a few steps and use already-established functions in their own code. The case for C/C++ is pretty obvious: it creates more compact and faster runtime code, and it's already the language of choice for 95% of embedded system code, so it has a whole legacy that Python will have to overcome.
