February 18, 2025Advice on Corsair Link? Is it worth the money? Are they quality fans?
I love the QX120s. I haven't had a Corsair fan before, but I had other brands and I like both their sound profile and their performance. I don't need to spin them more than around 900 rpm (they go as low as 450) and I can hear their sound only above around 1100 rpm. Even if I try to run them full speed, I don't hear any whine, it's mostly the air whoosh. I'd say the only fans that were quieter were Noctua fans. As for the price, it will depend on the lifespan. If I get few years out of them without any sort of degradation, I'm happy. I was willing to pay a bit more for much less fan cables in the case. In comparison to my previous nzxt setup, it's night and day. I read a lot of hate on icue here, but I had so many problems with CAM that switching to icue was a big improvement and I haven't had any issues with v5 so far. More on reddit.com

The hub itself used in the Link system is different from the Commander core used in Capellix, so it is just a different device. That is, they are not compatible. However, since they are controllers that operate independently, they can all be used together in ICUE. So replacing only the AIO fan is no problem. However, connecting the cable may be difficult because the AIO tube may cover the fan's link port location. In this case, just do not use the tube location port. You can also use a 90 degree cable. I'm thinking about buying a PC case, specifically the 3500x, where there are 3 versions. One is just the base case, the second is ARGB which includes 3 fans. The last option includes the "icue link" hub.
From the way I heard it, the icue link system is this proprietary connection system that links up all case fans, cpu fans/aio, and basically everything. The problem is, it's proprietary. So does this basically mean to take advantage of the icuelink hub, I'd have to buy corsair brand fans only? Corsair brand AIOs?
I guess the benefit is how easy it is to link up fans using the icue link connectors, but that basically means I'm stuck in the ecosystem, and I can't just buy a random 3/4 pin fan, and any AIO that isn't "icue link compatible" would just have to be plugged into the motherboard.
So are my assumptions correct? To take full advantage of the icue link hub/system I'd need to basically be locked into corsair products? Cause there's no way I'm paying 50 bucks for a single "icue link" fan.
And what advantages does icue link have over a non proprietary fan hubs besides simplicity of installation?

Hello, I recently purchased the Corsair ICUE Link 3500X case on Amazon. My motherboard is an asrock B450 steel legends, an aerocool lux M650W power supply. So I wired correctly with a PCI cable and when I want to turn on my computer, my computer does not turn on. On the other hand, when the hub is not plugged in, the computer turns on and works very well but without the fans. Do you know where the problem comes from? Thanks in advance. Upvote 1 Downvote
