Pallette vs. Pallet vs. Palate
This is possibly the best color palette site.
How do you usually choose a color palette?
http://colormind.io/ With this tool you can input, say, two most dominant colors from the logo, lock them, and it will use AI to give you the rest.
Otherwise, use all the colors from the logo for your pallette. It can be done professional y but takes effort.

More on reddit.comGiven a color palette, what is the best way to apply it to a web design?
EDIT: The first word should be "Palette" with one L and two Ts, and I'll edit the rest of the post accordingly. Thank you for the correction.
Hello! I know on this sub we're all referring to the same thing. These three are very similar words when spoken and may be very confusing to English and non-English speakers alike. But in case someone wanted to know the difference:
-
"Palette" refers to the artist's implement, a traditionally flat piece of wood where the paints are laid out during painting. It extends to describing the color choices of an artwork or visual medium, since it holds all the paints. (💬 "Your blanket has a beautiful color palette." 💬 "I keep forgetting to wash the paint off my palette.")
-
"Palette" with one L and double T is the correct word for "color palette." I hope the mods can update the current flair "color pallet" because everyone's choices for 2025 have been such a joy to see!
-
"Pallet" with double L and one T refers to wooden platforms made of planks, used for shipping or storage. It can also be used to a place of wood or straw where sick people lie down, but that's not really common in modern settings. (💬 "Load those onto the pallets there.")
-
"Palate" with two A's is associated with taste or eating. A person's palate is their personal flavor preference (💬 "I have a saltier palate"). It can also refer to the roof of your mouth (💬 "The chewing gum is stuck to my palate.")
-
AFAIK, "Pallete" with one T is not an English word.
-
EDIT: It turns out that "Pallette" with double L double T refers to a part of a suit of armor, one of the armpit plates, but I only found out upon googling it 😅
Thanks for reading! I know we all put so much thought and effort into our color palettes. We as a community aren't gonna gatekeep due to spelling. Please correct me if I missed anything!
