Probably depends on how you use it. I’ve been using RadarScope since 2010 or so as a chaser and it’s always worked very well for what I need. Radar Omega just seems cluttered and clunky when I need to get information quickly mid-chase. But I can see the attraction of Radar Omega if you’re using it in a statice environment without the multitasking that comes in the field. At the end of the day, it’s pretty much all the same information coming from NWS or AllisonHouse, I believe, so it really comes down to personal preference of how it’s displayed. I’m currently subscribed to RadarScope Pro Tier 1 and enjoying it, but am I missing anything by not having RadarOmega? Is one better than the other?

I have both as well. Radar Scope is faster and I prefer the UI but Radar Omrga has a longer loop cycle option and just more options at the base level. Both good IMO

March 17, 2021 - I have both, I like RadarScope but the recent addition of new features to their tier 2 subscription only is ticking me off a bit. I’ve been using radaromega a bit more lately, the UI isn’t as good but I love the metar access it has and the higher degree of customization as well.

I have radarscope on my laptop , and I love it. However, I’m thinking about getting it on my phone, and maybe I should get radar omega instead. RadarScope is, and has always been geared toward professionals and amateurs in the weather field, with a ton of Level 2 and 3 radar data. The quality is also top notch. You won’t have the common weird radar artifacts vs a traditional weather radar app. Hands down the only radar app I’ll use (besides GR3 Analyst on my desktop).

You have access to more info, overlays, etc in radaromega. But that also means it’s bloated beyond compare. I have both and use radarscope 95% of the time because radarscope loads in about 1s. Radaromega takes nearly 10s (at least on my 4 years old iphone se). I also happen to prefer the aesthetics of radarscopes UI, but that’s subjective.

It's a tried and true staple radar app. Radar Omega has apparently also been around for a while, but it really seems to be the new kid on the block. Honestly, it seems to be the first real contender to offer something as powerful as RadarScope.

Supposedly, the main allure of Radarscope is that it is very simple to use and produces very high-quality imagery/media in a very easy way. Very appealing to the general public and professionals, as well as everyone in between. I've not used RadarOmega, but I've heard of it being compared to Radarscope. From what I hear, it sounds like it's more intended to be a chaser tool, with more overlays and features that are geared towards mostly professionals, not necessarily the general public. All in all, pick the tool for what you need it for. If you're a chaser and want a ton of tools and data and know how to interpret them, go with RadarOmega. But Radarscope likely fills the needs for most weather enthusiasts.

Hey all - sorry if this has been discussed to death in the past, but I wanted some more recent opinions since the App Store reviews seems to have shifted for both apps as of more recently.

I’m interested in purchasing one of these apps, but not so interested as to buy up into one of their subscription plans.

What plan offers the best bang for the entry level price?

Radarscope is far cleaner and easier to use. That being said, RadarOmega has a lot more features. It's personal opinion. I like Radarscope more personally.

September 20, 2023 - I go back and forth between the two. I do like having the ability to use data layers in RadarOmega on top of the radar data (METARS, surface fronts, storm reports, etc.). RadarScope I use for active chasing since it updates your location for Spotter Network.
