With new driver 25.5.1, some changes not mentioned on the patch notes were made to how to enable Radeon Boost in the Adrenaline App.
Previously upon enabling the feature you would choose 3 options on a slider that indicated how much resolution you wanted to scale by when moving the mouse.
However, now you simply choose between Quality and Performance. This change is nice since it streamlines the process and nobody ever used the option between the highest and lowest setting. Net positive.
But they kinda bonked the implementation and have them mixed up.
If you press Shift+Alt+L it brings up little green or orange dots in the top left corner of the screen and the amount of dots appearing at any given time indicate just how much resolution is being scaled. More dots means your scaling from a lower resolution, less dots means higher resolution.
Testing this new change on Destiny 2, I enabled Boost on Performance, the most dots i could get is 2. But when I swapped it over to Quality I was getting 4 dots. This means they have the modes swapped and it should be corrected.
I submitted a Bug Report regarding the issue and urge you to do the same so that this doesn’t go unnoticed and can be corrected by the Radeon Team.
I've done all I can think of to make it work, I've restarted my PC, reinstalled Fortnite, enabled Boost in global graphics as well as the Fortnite profile.
I can't get it to work. I wanted to see how the performance was but I can't.
In Warframe it works just fine.
Specs:AMD RX 570 4GB GPU, driver 22.3.2
AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF CPU
Patriot Viper Steel 2x`16GB 3600Mhz CL18 @ 3400Mhz CL16 RAM
Gigabyte B450M DS3H Motherboard
Platform is PC of course.
To reproduce, enable Radeon Boost for the Fortnite profile, min resolution % can be anything, restart game if needed, and launch Fortnite
I don't know if this should be a bug or tech support flair, but it seems more like a bug to me.

any solutions ?
So I have been playing Cyberpunk on my RX580 8gb on a set framerate of 45 fps to have the best/consistent gameplay. Now I discovered the Radeon boost feature which seem kinda perfect for a even smoother experience.
Now here's the problem, it just won't work. AMD says CP2077 is supported, it also says its enable in the Radeon Software. But there's no Overlay in-game and not doing what it's supposed to do.
I'm guessing it has to do something with the game itself, since Radeon Boost works fine in the Witcher 3 (Boost overlay and everything).
Does anyone know what this "Radeon Boost" is?

It links to https://www.amd.com/en/technologies/radeon-boost but the page returns a 404.
Also, I saw a banner advertising the Adrenalin 2020 drivers (https://i.imgur.com/GGsbFhk.png). Are they actually out yet or is this a premature announcement?
Are you guys having Radeon boost issues as well? When i apply radeon boost on supported games (Apex, Destiny 2) it became blurry and unplayable, i wanna know it is just me or anyone having the same issue.
I’m on bios 1.4.4 and software version 20.10.18.06 (Dell) Microsoft version 20H2
I've been wanting to use the new upgraded Boost with VRS on Warzone, but I don't know if its actually using VRS. Supposedly with this new VRS upgrade, your UI/Menus shouldn't be affected by Boost, but for me they are.
my driver version is 21.4.1 which is supposed to have these features. Is anyone else able to test and see if they have the same issues?
e: running on a 3440x1440p monitor btw
e2: i tried it out in Fortnite BR and it actually works there, not sure why it isn't working on Warzone
I'm facing this bug with the Radeon Boost feature while pressing Ctrl > Shift In-game I get these weird black boxes but soon as I disable the boost feature it doesn't happen. I've reinstalled the driver using DDU but it's the same is this happening with anyone else or is it just me my specs below. Also moving the mouse in-game menus the text becomes blurry with Radeon Boost enabled.

Asus Tuf Gaming 9060XT 16GB
In my opinion, it's Radeon Boost.
For those unfamiliar with it:
Radeon Boost is an AMD graphics feature that dynamically lowers the rendering resolution during rapid on-screen movement to improve FPS while trying to maintain visual quality.
However, it has three major flaws:
-
Just like FSR, it requires developer-side implementation. And let’s be honest — even FSR 3.1 isn’t widely supported yet. So expecting broad support for Radeon Boost? Yeah, good luck with that.
-
The image quality drops noticeably, even with only minor camera movement. It doesn’t just kick in during fast motion — it activates too aggressively.
-
And most importantly, the performance gain isn't worth the trade-off. You lose a lot of visual clarity, but the FPS increase is barely noticeable — if at all.
