I am new to the PC space, and I was going through the AMD settings app and I noticed that Radeon super resolution was on while all the other stuff like anti-lag, boost, AFMF we’re all turned off. Should I leave Radeon super on or off? Thank you.

Is the super resolution feature really worth it? Current gpu is rx 6600xt.
The difference is astounding.
You can set game to 1080p, GPU will do in-driver upscaling to your display's native resolution with little to no loss of FPS.
Set to 1440p with everything on 'very high' my FPS averages around 48
Set to 1080p with RSR upscaling to 1440p with everything on 'very high' (visually about the same if not better with Radeon image sharpening) my FPS averages around 80.
I've got a 9800x3d, 9070xt, 64GB Expo RAM, 990+ nvme, 32" oled 4k monitor (240Hz)
I play Battlefield 6, Arc Raiders, etc. in 4k
I'm just shooting for higher framerates without any additional input lag due to graphics rendering.
I was testing around with the new feature a little bit and was hoping for noticeable better performance while losing not too much image quality.
When it comes to image quality it is doing really well in my opinion. Can't complain on that aspect.
But performance wise it is not doing much, if anything at all on my end. I expected like 10 or 20 fps more like I've seen in a lot of videos but for me it is mostly the same than just regular 1080p.
I tried 1600x900 and 1280x720 both looked good but I was only getting 5 FPS more than before.
I tested it in a lot of different games: Lost Ark, CP2077, Rocket League, just to name a few. Am I doing something wrong or why is it doing so much less than in the Videos I saw?
Question for AMD graphics card users: Do you have the Radeon Super Resolution (RSR) option enabled? If so, at what percentage? I tested it on a bot map with fps_max 0, and here are my results:

I think I'll stick with it OFF since I don't really see much difference between 0% and OFF. How RSR work if I playing cs2 1280x960 and my monitor is 1920x1080 165hz.
I have an AMD Radeon RX 6600 8Gb GPU with an Intel Core i5-7400 3 GHz CPU and a 60 Hz 1920x1080 monitor.
Obviously the CPU is bottlenecking GPU performance leading to frequent lags when enemies start to multiply. Trying to bring out the best performance. I want to use RSR, however I realized this game also has a built-in upscaling setting. If I use RSR, should I change that to Native and resolution lower than 1920x1080?
I hate upscaling. FSR and DLSS with their fake ass graphics and ghosting, cant stand them.
The real deal is downscaling/supersampling and more specifically Virtual Super Resolution. I am playing F1 24 with a 7800 XT on a 3440x1440 monitor and the game is rendered in 5120x2160 (4K ultrawide), high settings, 60fps without a hitch. It looks incredible.
VSR is a godsend. If you have a capable GPU, use it!
I play around with Radeon Super Resolution sometimes just to see what games look like with it turned on. Whenever I turn it on, I'll have it set to 80%. I have a 1440p monitor FWIW and usually set games to 1080p or 900p whenever playing around with RSR.
I don't use RSR when I'm actually for real playing a game, mostly because I play all of my games (not counting old games) at my monitor's native resolution.
However, I like knowing RSR is on the table in case I change my mind or run into a game that can't handle 1440p. RSR is nowhere near perfect because it doesn't get rid of the artifacts from gaming at lower than native resolution, but it gives games a certain sharpness that makes those artifacts less jarring. 1080p RSR looks almost identical to native 1080p and 900p RSR looks pretty decent itself. However, anything below 900p and RSR starts to look more smudgy than if it were turned off. Still, I think RSR does a better job upscaling than FSR (I've never used DLSS but heard it's supposed to be better than FSR, am I wrong?).
I hope driver upscaling improves in the coming years, not that it'll ever look as good as gaming at higher/native resolution to begin with, but considering how much GPUs have improved on the software level the past few years, I like knowing I wont be stuck having to rely solely on a GPUs raw performance in the foreseeable future. With the onset of AI, I'm optimistic driver upscaling will become the smoking gun, a failsafe if say you're stuck playing a game at 720p or some shit but don't want to lose any sharpness.
Radeon Super Resolution
The upscaling algorithm is still based on FSR1, which was terrible to begin with. Since RSR is implemented at the driver level, it's even worse—basically garbage built on top of garbage. I really hope AMD upgrades the algorithm to at least FSR 3.1.3, or ideally FSR 4, for the RX 9000 series.
AFMF
They’re updating this feature frequently, but they really need to fix the ghosting on HUD elements. Hopefully, AFMF 3 will finally address this issue properly.
FSR 4
Just let users upgrade FSR 3.1 games to FSR 4 directly, instead of relying on game-specific whitelisting. The current approach is unnecessarily restrictive.
Radeon Boost
It's honestly terrible. I avoid using HYPR-RX entirely because of this feature. AMD really needs to improve it so games don’t end up looking like a pixelated mess.
HYPR-RX
Instead of forcing RSR and blocking the use of RIS, AMD should let users choose between RSR and RIS. That way, in games that already support superior upscaling, we can stick with RIS as the default.
Its supposedly upscaling the picture to a higher resolution so you're getting the visual quality of, say, 4K but the framerate of 1080p or even lower resolutions. So I get this thing improves my performance with little to know sacrifice in quality.

Does a game have to specifically support this Super Resolution tech? Or is it likely it works on a lot of older games that could stand to have a boost?

When I have this feature enabled I notice I can select resolutions well above the native for my monitor? Is there any benefit from doing so or should I set the resolution to native and enjoy performance? I game primarily on a 1080p Freesync monitor.
I thought about putting this in the tech support thread but nothing is broken, I just want to know if I'm using a feature correctly.
Has anyone been able to successfully activate Radeon Super Resolution or does the game even support it? Any chance for a step by step how-to?
I'm running a 1440p monitor and would like the PC to just upscale to it from 1080p.
In AMD software at Global Graphics, enabling Radeon Super Resolution does not work for me when I check AMD software stating that upscaling is inactive. I am at full screen, 1080p settings in-game.
But ultimately, would like to run Radeon Super Resolution only for ToF, so hoping for assistance on that end as well. During "Add a Game" option, to which exe or file do I point to? Is it tof_launcher.exe?
I looked through a bunch of posts for enabling RSR for Starfield, but didn't see this process clearly outlined anywhere (apologies if I just didn't look or read hard enough).

Before opening the game, open AMD Adrenaline (22.3.1 or later)
Note: from what I can tell, this doesn't require changing any settings in game, you just have to do it before you launch the game.
2) Go to Gaming >> Games >> [select game]
Note: when you select Gaming >> Games, you should see a list of games installed on your PC
3) There should be a Graphics section, and under that a section for Radeon Super Resolution; select Enabled - Bordless Fullscreen
4) A section called Resolution Override should appear underneath Radeon Super Resolution; there is a slider next to it; this slider selects the resolution you want to upscale *from* (it will scale to the native resolution of your screen)
5) Launch your game (there is a Launch Game button right on the game page, but you can launch it from elsewhere too)
6) As the game launches, you'll notice that the screen resolution is changing to the resolution override value
7) You're all set. If you're curious, you can go into the game settings and you'll see that the resolution matches what you selected for Resolution Override.
Note: changing the resolution in game messes things up, at least some of the time for some games. If you want to try upscaling from a different resolution, quit out of the game, modify resolution override, and re-launch the game.
This worked for me for both Starfield and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The option was there for other games (AC Mirage, Disco Elysium), but I didn't test them.

This is my first AMD product where I’m actually playing games on and I’m super confused as to how this RSR option works the Legion Go.
At first I thought i drop my resolution on the quick menu tab then change the resolution to something higher in-game. But I don’t seem to get much increase on quality.
If anyone has a guide on how to properly use this option or if it’s even currently working properly on most games being it’s a newer device, lemme know.
Does it make any difference if I play all my games at 1080. I only have a 1080p monitor and I ONLY play games at 1920x1080.
Example BF6 I have FSR on but set to quality. Does having super resolution enabled have any effect ?? I know there is the sharpen slider.
Should i just disable it since I always play at 1920x1080 anyways.
I have an RX 6600 and a 1080p AOC 24G2. Currently there's a nice Prime Day deal on a 1440p LG 27GP850-B for €260, which I think I might get. I mostly play easy to run games such as Minecraft, Rocket League, Overwatch and Fall Guys, which I expect to run fine on my 6600. But sometimes I play heavier games but definitely not often, and I don't expect great performance in these titles. So what I'm wondering is, is RSR upscaling from 1080p to 1440p any good for games that don't support FSR? Will it look better than 1080p native on my old monitor?
