radeon-profile from aur crashing in kde
Weird, I use radeon-profile + daemon on Arch Linux Xorg Plasma with an AMD RX 580 totally fine
are you using Wayland? missing driver? Maybe ask at upstream
I've already asked in the github, but no reply
Been using radeon-profile for months, to downvolt / downclock my RX 580, issue is after updating to latest version, these settings do not apply anymore
I am really not sure what is causing the issue, reverting to previous version seems to fix it
Any idea on what could be causing the issue?
Developer helped me, fixed by this https://github.com/marazmista/radeon-profile/commit/cb3f047e56901b1c5a7907617be33e17d0be538c
I installed both the radeon-profile and radeon-profile-daemon aur packages. The daemon runs fine, but the radeon-profile app crashes on startup: crash log.
I'm currently using the radeon-profile that i compiled on another distro, but it's pretty old and i'd rather use the aur package. Anyone dealt with this problem? Any tips?
UPDATE: fetched the recent changes from master and it seems to be working now.
I recently got the radeon vii, and have been looking to undervolt it a little bit for it not to run as loud and warm. When I install the AUR package, and open the program no information is displayed. Any extra steps I am missing here?
do you have radeon-profile-daemon installed and running?
Run with root privilages or install and run radeon-profile-daemon along with radeob-profile.
Also the aur hasn't been updated for a while and older version has a few critical bugs. Try compiling both radeob-profile and it's daemon from source to get best experience.
