Piecewise Function - How to Graph? Examples, Evaluating
To find the domain of a piecewise function, just take the union of all intervals given in the definition of the function. To find the range of a piecewise function, just graph it and look for the y-values that are covered by the graph.

Try to enter a piecewise function whose graph matches the one that appears. Or, uncheck the "Show Graph" checkbox above and press the "Random" button to generate a random example graph try to guess what the graph will look like, and recheck "Show Graph" to check your answer. Or, try to draw a picture using various pieces of graphs, as in the "Face" example.

For example, if we plug in x=−1 into the first part, we get f(−1)=(−1)2=1, which is greater than 0. Plugging in x=0 into the second part gives f(0)=2(0)+1=1, confirming the range starts at 1. Mathematical definitions and properties of ...

What the title said. Is it possible to restrict the x inputs within a range? For example I want the function to only graph x when x is >= -3 and <= 5. I know I can change the display x axis length, but that is not what I want to achieve. Any ideas?
