When I used Windows I would use a piece of software that Razer put out that allowed your Razer mouse (don't recall if it worked with any mouse or just theirs). The brilliance of it was that it allowed you to customise your mouse's buttons/dpi/etc per application. It was pretty amazing overall and I used it for years very happily because I could set up custom 1-3 button macros or whatever I wanted for, for example, Overwatch, The Witcher and so on.
I moved my gaming off of Windows recently and have finally gotten the only game I want to play running. The only problem is that I'd like to use my side buttons for different games (in the future) and even set them differently for Ghostery, Telegram and other apps.
I have settled on EndeavourOS, which is fine as I've been using Arch since 2008, but I've yet to find an equivalent piece of software to customise my use of the mouse. I tried using KDE's built-in mouse button binding software. It works but as the buttons are now set globally when I stop gaming my side buttons are set to whatever keyboard button I tied to my mouse buttons. Obviously this is not ideal.
Does anyone here know of a piece of software that does what Razer's does but in Linux?
