Right now I'm stuck in a loop of hell of HDI compliant mouse, uninstall synapse, uninstall from device manager, reconnecting mouse, running from the driver installer exe, and stuck again. I've been trying to google a direct link to the actual drivers for a Basilisk Essential so I can just force Device Manager to install from it but all I can find is the damn exe which keeps telling me my firmware is up to date(even though when I install Synapse it only picks up the Cyanosa. Does Razer not offer direct downloads for their drivers?
EDIT: Resolved by removing Synapse+mouse drivers+interface drivers(including hidden). Turns out I had 5-6 hidden entries under Human Interface Devices in Device Manager.
So early on in my search for a mouse I was really interested in Razer but then I read a few accounts of their software slowing down peoples computers and that deterred me from exploring them further. I also heard negative things about logitech software but then read about workarounds and that you don't have to keep their software installed and can rely on onboard memory without softare.
Does Razer require that you keep their software on your pc to use their mouse? Do you have to run it in the background or can you use their mice without ever touching their software?
Basically title.
I just picked up a new Razer Viper Ultimate wireless and I was wondering if I need Razer’s software to make use of it.
I used to use Synapse for a BlackWidow X keyboard years ago before I was given a new brand but I really disliked their software because of how many problems it gave me on my computer back then (multiple restarts, high usage, didn’t connect). So I would like to stray away from using it but maybe it’s better now and hopefully more Razer experienced people here can let me know.
Also if anyone else has a Razer Viper Ultimate, is there anything you could let me know that I otherwise wouldn’t?
