If You Want to Customize Your Mechanical Keyboard, Razer's New Kits Are a Solid Way to Start
August 11, 2021 - For instance, you could buy a colorful keycap set that’s readily available on Drop for around the same price as the PBT upgrade kit. But it might clash with the rest of the Razer keyboard, or the keycaps might not have the right feel relative to the rest of the board. Since the keycaps are standardized, Razer’s pre-packaged customization kits could also work for a first-time modder with a third-party board.

August 11, 2021 - There’s also too much length between the keyboard and the coil. Nitpicks? Maybe. The cable is still an upgrade from the usual, rubberized one included in the box. But, if you’re looking for a cheap way out of an expensive custom, we’re not quite there yet. In addition to its normal PBT keycaps, Razer will also be offering its own take on puddings.

Razer's cheap keycap customization kits are a gateway to an expensive hobby | GamesRadar+
September 17, 2021 - Even the most affordable kits can cost hundreds of dollars, and that's not even counting the additional tools and cleaning supplies required. Those who want to build the best gaming keyboard possible have limited options if they're working with a smaller budget. However, the easiest way to put your own stamp on your keyboard is with a nice new set of keycaps. Last month, Razer entered the custom space with a new selection of kits and wrist rests designed to allow you to personalize your deck without having to break it down to the PCB.

r/MechanicalKeyboards on Reddit: Custom Keyboard using Razer Blackwidow v3
December 15, 2021 -

Looking into building my first custom keyboard. I have been a life long Razer user ( I know, I know) and I don't want to leave them behind completely. My question here is, would it be possible to use a Razer BlackWidow v3 as my keyboard kit (shell) for a build. I plan on using Gateron Caps / Milky, (not sure if I should buy the 3 or 5 prong) with different keycaps. But again the question is would it be possible to use it as the shell for my build. The one I am looking at comes with green tact switches.
