Was just wondering before I order them if anyone has them on a huntsman v2 tkl and has some pics of possibly before and after switching out the keycaps.
Very disappointed in the Razer Phantom Keycap Upgrade Set. They said it's a universal kit and compatible with the 65% keyboards. I have the Razer Blackwidow V3 Mini Hyperspeed. The keycap kit has a much smaller font. Also the font isn't as sharp. It almost looks a little fuzzy. On top of that...the frosted look cuts back on the amount of light that shines through by a lot. On top of that, almost all the FN controls are missing from the front side of the keys. It has the media functions but that's about it. I figured this would allow me to have to same thing as if I ordered the Phantom version of this keyboard but it's not the same.
I tried to return it and Razer made me pay shipping. The cost to ship was more than half of what I paid. It wasn't even worth it. I almost just threw it in the trash but decided to just throw it in a storage box in case I ever wanted to use it with a different keyboard. Definitely wouldn't ever purchase again. Love the keyboard...but these keycaps are not as advertised.

I really like the look of the Razer Phantom keycaps (I swear I'm not a Razer stan), but I don't want to buy them if they will shine (they are ABS). From the videos I've seen people haven't talked about them shining, but I don't know if all ABS keycaps shine or just some. Do you know if they do?
If they do shine, I need an alternative. Are there any relatively cheap PBT alternatives?
Thanks in advance!
Installed on Razer Huntsman Elite. Despite not being PBT, has a satisfying grainy texture. Stealth works surprisingly well. The stem of the switch is visible from the back, but it's not like you'll be looking at it from that angle very often. Darker lighting effects don't exactly play nice, but still look mostly fine. 8/10.
If you are interested in buying Phantom keycaps, I would say they look nice, but the quality is not good. After the second swap of these keycaps with different keyboards, the mounts easily expand and become loose. With a wrong press towards the edge of the keycap, they fly away from your keyboard. Additionally, they are easily broken, which I had to glue the mount of the Caps key.
As someone who makes mechanical keyboards as a hobby, I know that the quality varies from material to material, brand to brand, etc. Phantom keycaps are neither premium priced nor premium keycaps, and I understand that. However, they should not become loose after just two swaps. If Razerโs expectation is that you put it on your keyboard and then forget it, then please put it on the box.
I like repairing things and using them again and again. I donโt mind gluing a keycap, but they should not start to break in 1.5 months.
I'm looking to invest in a huntsman keyboard, and was looking at the optional stuff. The PBT and phantom keycaps both look good, but I'm not sure which is better for me. I mostly do gaming, and sometimes some other stuff like work.
Phantom Keycaps in black
I've been loving my Keychron K6 for over a year now.
Just for reference this is a highly modded hotswap K6 with the aluminum frame. It's Shell is padded with a 5mm sheet of silicone rubber for weight and noise dampening, I also added a thin sheet of foam between the plate and PCB to reduce sound there as well. The stabs are Durock plate mount and the switches are lubed and filmed Durock T1 tactile switches, spring swapped to 78g and until now it has been rocking a blue and grey PBT front legend keycap set and an aluminum artisan key.
Before the swap.
I loved this color combo but I wanted to try something a bit more stealthy so I picked up the new Razer Phantom Ketcaps in black as well as a black and resin artisan key to replace the escape key. The result is night and day literally.
Phantom keys with no back-lighting
As you can see, the Phantom keys are pure black when there is no back-lighting but when you turn it on...

I'm really impressed with how well this blackout kit works and though the keys are not PBT they have a grippy texture that feels very much like PBT.
I would love to hear any thoughts or comments on this setup. I honestly wasn't planning on keeping the Razer keys as I didn't expect much from them but I am really enjoying the look and may keep the combo for this board.
Thanks all.
Did anyone try Razer Phantom Keycaps with South facing led aluminum baords like Monsgeek? How good or bad is it? Apart from the legends, does it thock or clack?
So what happened it that I broke one of the tabs on my space bar while trying to get something that had fallen under it, so I bought some new key caps cause the description said they fit ALL Razer keyboards. Which is a lie because they don't fit the Cynosa V1. Once I figure out how to contact support (because any attempt to get the the contact page just keeps looping back around to the order return page) because the website says that my order number and email don't match I'm sending them back. Needless to say I am NOT happy as I paid for express shipping as well.
So since I have to edit this: obviously I didn't know that they Cynosa was a membrane keyboard until after I bought and recieved the keycaps. And unless you know this it literally says at the bottom of the product page:
Does this set fit all Razer keyboards?
Yes, this set fits all Razer keyboards.
Hence why I bought them.
So, I got my Razer Blackwidow V3 Pro about 2-3 years ago and I came across the Razer Phantom keycaps and instantly really liked the idea of keycaps that amplify the RGB effect. Unfortunately, I would soon realize that basically all the examples of the pudding caps being used are on keyboards with translucent switches. Issue is that the V3 Pro has opaque switches.
So right now I'm just trying to figure out, even without translucent switches on my keyboard, will the Phantom caps still make a noticeable difference for the lighting on my keyboard that looks good? (Side note, the lighting zones are on the top of my switches for reference.)
Now that Wooting has released white keycaps I was considering switching from my G.Skill Crystal Crown keycaps to those. However, the shipping adds a lot to the cost and they would be over $80 CAD for me which is about 1/3rd the cost of the entire keyboard for me, which seems like a lot just to switch out the keycap colur. I had some gift cards for Amazon so decided to try the closest thing I could find which is the Razer PBT keycaps and see if it was worth switching to PBT in general before decided if I would get the wooting caps.
The Razer keycaps are sorely disappointing. The legend is fuzzy, not crisp at all and there is bleed through at higher brightness. Going to try them out for gaming for a few days and if I prefer PBT I'll return these and get the Wooting caps.
Thought I would let people know in case they're considering the Razer's1,2,3 & Q,W,E = RazerA,S,D = stock WootingZ,X,C = G.Skill Crystal Crown
Do you guys think it'll fit? I know its a low profile keyboard with low profile switches, but I've seen reviews where it'll fit a standard keycap since it has the standard switch shape or whatever
