What's going on with Synapse 4?

Yesterday, I casually opened Synapse3 and was fooled by the red triangle and pressed the "Update to Synapse4" button. That was the beginning of all the tragedies.
My Razer Tarutarus V2 lost 3 layers and over 30 macro assignments. I can't remember which macros were assigned to which keys and I have to reassign them one by one by hand. This has devastated my CAD, illustration and video editing productivity. Razer is kind enough to call this a "seamless experience."
After a few hours of fuming, I discovered that I could downgrade to Synapse 3, but then the macro module itself stopped working. It was working fine before I pressed the "Update to Synapse 4" button, so it's definitely related to the update to Synapse 4.
There's an old saying that goes "If it ain't broken, don't fix it." I am painfully aware of how right this was. If you are not suffering with Synapse 3, do NOT upgrade to Synapse 4, no matter what threatening message you are being shown.
Synapse3 is set to stop working in January 2026, and when that date comes around I'll replace my device rather than opt for the update. After all, why would you need to worry about persistent software, cloud syncing, and updates that break at the whim of any corporation just to be able to press a button and play a macro?
Oh how I don't miss messing with a company that can't even get fucking social logins to work but has the most egregious privacy guidelines capturing every keystroke for "enhancement purposes".
Like literally social login just keeps having me login to no avail. Finally figure out my password since no social, then bam loads forever and ever and ever and cant log in. Actually rubbish considering I just want to turn RGB on all my razer shit off from literally just waking me up from that bullshit annoying ass pulse lighting effect. 🙃
I know people whinge about Synapse 3 but its been the most stable RGB and device control platform I've ever used (I've used most of them). Synapse 4, on the other hand, is an absolute buggy mess. Devices won't sync to their docks after waking from sleep -- and my Tartarus Pro refuses to work (save for the d-pad because reasons).
I'm using a Tartarus Pro, a Deathstalker V2 Pro TKL, a Firefly V2, a Basilisk V3 Pro and a Mouse Dock Pro -- so it's all current generation hardware. Nothing I own requires Synapse 4 but I'd prefer to use the features that're only available in Synapse 4.
Does it get better with a windows re-install? Or should I just give up on Synapse 4 until Razer fixes it?
It's still called Beta in the installer lol?
Other than that, i'll feedback and let you guys know how it goes..
UPDATE: Gone back to Synapse 3.
What a great software! Love it Razer!
