I signed up for the Westjet World Elite Mastercard. I've started making purchased on the card.
For the life of me, I have not been able to figure out what my WestJet ID is. I'm wondering how I would figure this out? Contacting WestJet via phone is a lost cause, and RBC hasn't been much help either as I've made numerous tries.

Do you have the westjet app already active? It will have your westjet ID.

If you open the app on your phone and click on Account at the bottom, your WJ Rewards ID is right at the top under your name. It will likely be in a teal rectangle. If you are using a laptop, log in. If you click on your account a pop up shows the ID. If you click view account it shows it there too. It's probably in an email as well. Like, it really should be anywhere you look in your account.

I’m about to sign up for the WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard. My family and I fly WestJet at least once a year and typically would buy the cheapest tickets which is now UltraBasic. I read somewhere in this channel that we would can still get free check in bags with the credit card which is why I want to get it.
Does anyone have any tips? Or any good or bad experiences using the card?
Any extra bonuses for signing up at a specific place?
I don’t know what answers to expect but any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

For Calgarians like me its pretty worth it since YYC offers priority security line access for WJ WE cardholders, and Calgary is Canada’s biggest Westjet hub. Also if you shop/gas at Costco, this card is helpful since the 1.5% back is more than Costco’s own Mastercard (1%), and Costco isn’t classified as a grocery store so it commonly only gets 0.5% or 1% back on most credit cards.

Anyone who says it's not a good idea in isolation is giving terrible advice. The value is drastically different based on what benefits you'd be able to utilize. If you like flying with checked bags, and travel often on WS, it's a no-brainer. If you like flying to destinations where the companion fare holds lots of value, it's also a no-brainer. If you're getting it so you can get 1 checked bag free for a single trip, and/or for lounge passes, it's probably not worth it. Likewise, if you are using it on a route where they tend to base fare away (i.e. economy long-haul), then you will be disappointed.
