I'm a full stack dev in Canada and I currently make around 80k USD salary adjusted with great benefits. After speaking with a few recruiters for remote work in the US I get the impression that asking 100k USD is lower than expected. From anecdotal experience am I asking too low? I have experience in cloud, DevOps, production, some lead but no Kube yet.
For contract rates how much more do you ask?
Thanks in advance for your advice.
Out of curiosity. :-)
I've been learning it for a while now and have fun creating web apps in it, so I was thinking about going freelance (I've grown to like Django more than what I currently do as a freelance developer, it feels like a breeze of fresh air) with it this Summer or for a remote job. Would you say it pays good? Or is it overly saturated? I don't quite believe the 100K+ salaries Glassdoor etc. show you, so I thought where would possibly be a better place to ask this than here?
Thank you in advance!
Edit: Thank you guys, this thread has been incredible helpful to a lot of people, not just me it seems!
I saw this post on r/reactjs and wanted to ask the same for our subreddit
