Hey guys,
I'm currently exploring the possibility of using DataDog for monitoring our frontend applications, but I'm somewhat new to this tool in this context. I've seen DataDog being widely used for backend monitoring, but I'm curious if anyone here has experience using it specifically for frontend monitoring.

Do you already pay for Datadog for other services? because otherwise it might get expensive. Datadog team is also very helpful in providing any resources you may be looking for.

I just did this two weeks ago. I added it to track performance (web vitals) and error tracking. I learned quickly that it will not create issues unless an error stack trace is more than a single level deep. You'll still see the errors in the session but it will not appear in the error tracking tab. I released it to collect only 10% traffic data with 1% session recording because as already stated, it can get expensive fast for high traffic sites. Even with the small sample rate it surfaced some fairly frequent errors that were very easily addressed once we were made aware of the issues. I've only had it out for two weeks and marketing has picked up on the scent of the heat maps, funneling and user journeys that come along with it. The data is all there and I'm still figuring out the best way to fine tune things but so far it's been very useful to me and my team.
