Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.
When you reinstalled the audio driver, where did you download the installer from?
You can leave the link to the download page.
The HP Victus 15 has a few variants. What is the exact model of your HP?
If you prefer, you can send a screenshot of your system information.
- Press "Windows + R", type msinfo32 and press Enter.
Maximize the window and use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.
Hi , SukhoiSu47.

Thanks
Ok I tried normally and in safe mode, now:
realtek audio does not support this machine
as I stated, I have a driver problem with my laptop, specifically one with the Realtek driver
I have a Hp Victus 15-fb0xxx, It is almost brand new, bought it like 2 or 3 months ago
Basically the volume mixers doesn't work with the built in speakers, it is either at 100 or 0, no in betweens, although configuring the audio inside apps does work, as well as using connected headphones, and also the built in microphone just flat out dissapeared which is annoying bcs I used it with my bluetooth headphones
I have tried installing various Realtek drivers from official pages, even the ones listed under the drivers for my laptop but it just doesn't do anything, I have tried uninstalling Realtek through Device Manager to possibly install an older version but everytime I restart my laptop the drivers are magically there again, even if I have "No" selected on the "change your device installation settings"
Is there a fix to this? I'm thinking resetting it to factory settings or as a last resort send it back since it still has warranty
Hi,
Please double check as well if there is still pending optional driver update that needs to be installed, regardless if its not related to Audio.
Once done, you can also download and install Audio driver from HP manufacturer for the latest Audio driver.
Dear Kelly Sarrat
Thanks for reaching out! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A. I'm Haien from Microsoft Q&A. It sounds like you've been having a frustrating time with your audio drivers since upgrading your HP x360 to Windows 11. The error message is a classic sign of a driver compatibility issue after a major system change like a Windows upgrade. Since HP, the manufacturer of your laptop, is responsible for providing Windows 11 drivers for their hardware, it's possible the Realtek driver on their site isn't fully updated yet, or you're not using the correct one for your specific model.
In the meantime, you can try these workarounds to get you out of this problem:
- Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters > Select Recording Audio and click Run to diagnose microphone issues > Select Playing Audio and click Run to diagnose speaker issues > Follow the on-screen prompts to apply fixes.
- Go to Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates > Install any available updates, including optional ones for drivers.
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager > Expand the "Audio inputs and outputs" or "Sound, video, and game controllers" section > Right-click on the Surface audio device (it may be labeled as "Realtek(R) Audio" or similar) > select Update driver > Search automatically.
- If unresolved, Select Uninstall device.
- If an option appears to "Delete the driver software for this device" check that box > Restart your PC. Windows will automatically detect the hardware and reinstall a fresh copy of the driver.
- If issues persist, download HP-specific Realtek drivers: Visit Official HP Drivers and Software Download | HP Support> enter your model, select Windows 11 > download/install the latest audio driver.
