Thank you for your response.
I have tried the steps you rcommended and I continue to have
the same issue.
- Device Manager - Uninstalled Realtek Bluetooth 5.0 Adapter
- Restarted PC
- All drivers are up to date, yet the issue remains that the
only device affected is the wireless headphone (Cowin E-7),
I lose the sound, although it appears in Bluetooth devices,
and is replaced by "speakers." - I have to reload the minidisk for the Realtel Bluetooth 5.0
Adapter to load the Realtek drivers back on and re-install Realtek
Bluetooth. After this is complete the wireles headphones
work well.
Guess I shall ignore any updates, since headphones work well
without updates.
Should you have any other resolution, please let me know.
Thanks again for getting back.

Please help me getting my bluetooth to work on win 7 cuz i wotn be able to use my earphones without bluetooth
Thanks for your reply. I'll give that a try. I got the clear impression that this issue was strictly a problem with Build 1909, so I tried upgrading with Build 1903 instead. But I got the same problem.
A Microsoft Advisor reasonably told me that I needed to buy a Bluetooth dongle based on a RealTek chip, install the driver that comes with it, then uninstall it. Hopefully, the Windows 10 upgrade tool will no longer find the allegedly conflicting driver.
Alternatively, I'll try leaving the driver installed and try again.
Please keep in mind that the computer in question is a home-built Asus desktop that never, EVER had ANY Bluetooth device attached or installed, let alone one based on a RealTek chip!
Finally, I'm convinced that Microsoft never even thought about the problem this bug causes for people trying to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10. They really should provide a solution. Perhaps a downloadable iso file that does not perform this check, or something like that?
Thanks again.
Windows 7 support has ended, but every time I try to upgrade to Windows 10 I get the infamous and extremely annoying Realtek driver issue. The solution Microsoft provides ONLY works if:
(1) You already have Windows 10 installed and working, and
(2) You already have a Realtek Bluetooth driver installed.
Neither of these are true for me!
So how do I solve this issue in Windows 7?
Thanks!
Albeit the workaround is for Windows 10, try it on Windows 7 and see if it works.
Also try upgrading by downloading the Windows 10 ISO and run setup from your Windows 7 desktop.
They are not up to date and it’s stopping my Windows 10 update, I’ve tried deleting and manually installing but nothing works. Any thoughts??
