I know you aren't going to get the best quality sound out of wireless headphones but I really hate having the wire so whats the best quality sound for listening to music from wireless closed back headphones?
Just out of curiosity. I’m not about to make a purchase decision or anything, but if ANC were not a consideration, what Bluetooth headphones would have the best audio quality? “Best” can be evaluated as “best value for money” or “best of the best if money is not a problem” or whatever y’all think sounds great. Thanks!

Please wireless I know it's not the best but I need to be able to walk around my budget is up to 150 closed back preferably I'll take any suggestions been ripping my hair out every headphones have some kind of issue I currently have a blackshark v2 pro and wanna get my first quality headphones it'll be used for gaming and occasionally music and any good songs you use to test ur head sets when you get a new set
I'm looking for something to buy that's wireless, and to get for my broken xm3s.
I'm wanting a closed back solution.
I know I know Bluetooth isn’t the best of the best but I can’t stand having a cord to deal with. Just want something easy to wear to jam and dance. That being said - I would like headphones that are fairly light weight and won’t fly off my head when I’m dancing. I listen to a lot of edm and alternative. Heavy bass. I love being able to hear the mid tones as well. Probably will wear them at home and potentially out and about. Sound cancelling would be nice. I’m open about the cost because I’m willing to save up for some good headphones that’ll last me a long time.
It doesn't have to be extremely high-end, but something on the level of let's say a Sennheiser HD 598. Are there any wireless options on the market that are this quality (or higher)?
And in general, what are the opinons on the Sennheiser RS 175-U? How does it stack up among their wired lineup?
I have a pair of HD600s that I like a lot but my cat keeps chewing up the cable. I'm sick of buying them but I don't really like the feel and sound quality of bluetooth gaming headphones. Are there any wireless audiophile options, preferably something with the option to use a cable once the batteries eventually can't hold a charge.
Location Fort Worth/Dallas
Budget preferably around 300 dollars, we can go above but id just have to save and sell the HD600s and the DAC I have.
Is the statement true?
I discovered this opinion while researching what kind of headphones are best for a pure listening experience. Of the three main headphone categories, (Studio, consumer, and gamer headphones) most people during my research suggest a studio quality headphone even for gaming. Which, to further back up the statement, are usually wired most of the time with 2 wires from both cans even. Most likely because you just simply can't get the quality of sound from Bluetooth technology that you can get being wired in.
What are your thoughts and can you discuss facts and the science behind it? Looking forward to reading what people will say
Edit: Thanks for the comments, I have a lot to read and you're all so educated and informative I really appreciate your time!
Hi there,
I would appreciate any recommendations, preferably under the 1 000 EUR/USD price tag.
Some of the options I'm possibly considering:
- Focal Bathys
- Sennheiser Momentum 4
I've also heard a good thing or two about the Apple AirPods Max gen2, despite being a 'larger brand'. Not sure about their build quality though when compared to audio-dedicated companies.
As a reference, I currently own and like my Kennerton Vali, Sennheiser HD800 and Sennheiser HD600. I drive these off my Schiit while on my PC, however I'd like to check if there's something I could enjoy to use with my phone and for other mobile needs.
That budget could make the Mark Levinson No. 5909 possible, if barely. I'd consider the Bowers & Wilkins Px8 though, or their PX7 S2's.
Focal Bathys is the most audiophile wireless headphone, period. If you were a normie maybe B&W with their details and popular sound signature could buy you. But since you know how music should sound right, Bathys is a no brainer. I own them but also I link this for reference Bathys/Levinson/B&W
Hi! I'm looking for a pair of wireless headphones for $900 or less and sound quality is my number one priority in my purchasing choice. I would like to purchase wired headphones but I figured that a wire would be too inconvenient as my main means of listening to music is on my phone while commuting via the train. I'm looking for a good pair of wireless headphones that hold up to scrutiny by an audiophile audience if such a pair exists. I'm well aware that Bluetooth headphones compress music as well as generally tend to have a "tinny" sound to them so my main priority is looking for a pair of headphones that minimize that. Thank you! :)

I think currently the Focal bathys are still the best wireless headphones sound wise.
Hey everyone,
Hopefully I don't stir up the audiophile crowd, but here goes. Looking for something to use at home for gaming, music and movies/shows. I live a wireless life due to the convenience of being able to move around quite freely and do things around the house(to an extent), so something wireless is a must as all my peripherals are wireless already. I'm leaning more towards closed-back due to privacy reasons but I'm open to open-backs as well. Budget around $200-$400 for the headphone, and I'll planning on getting something like the FiiO BTA30 Pro to get aptX codecs on my desktop for latency. Don't need a mic as I already have one. Currently considering(in no specific order:
-
Beyerdynamic Amiron
-
Audio Technica M50xBT2
-
Grado GW100x
-
Sennheiser Momentum 4
However I'm open for suggestions of all kinds, as well as any tips someone would want to share. I don't deal with sound professionally in any way. I've used gaming headphones my entire life, but everyone seems to say to get a "good" headphone instead of the gaming crap, so now I'm invested in this world and am looking to get something actually good.
If you don't need anc, then the audeze Maxwell. It is marketed as a gaming headphone, but is easily the best tuned wireless headphone under 500, maybe the best tuned wireless headphone ever.
Alternatively, get the qudelix 5k and pair it with whatever headphones you like.

Like everyone I love bass lol. Currently heave Sennheiser M3s. Love em but just want something with a cleaner look but don’t wanna downgrade quality or audio wise (a little louder if possible), hence me avoiding the M4’s. Recommendations?
I've had some Sennheiser Momentum 2s for about 4 years now and they're starting to fall apart. I've been having trouble finding info on wireless, portable headphones that are primarily intended for serious music listening with most places just recommending a Bose QC or that one Sony can with all the letters in the name and nothing else.
I already have a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pros but I also spend a ton of time on my phone with headphones connected via Bluetooth. I'm fine spending around $500, if I have to spend more then it'll take some convincing.
I listen to a plethora of genres, from modern pop to jazz to film scores and classical to electronic music. I really enjoy the openness and clarity and shine of my DT 1990s and I prefer a more analytical, balanced headphone vs a bassy a bloated one.
ANC is preferred but not totally necessary if it has good passive attenuation and I literally never use the mic in my headphones now so that's not a factor. Pretty much just want music = good and then hopefully it's portable and decent battery life but not a deal breaker.
I know nothing can beat wired headphone but I have seen a few people recommending the Audeze Maxwell and the Hifiman Deva how do they compare to wired and which one is better or is there a better wireless headphone for about 300 to 400 USD
Bluetooth and 3.5 DAC capable headphone?
Audiophile Headphones with optional bluetooth?
Hi, I’ve been looking for audiophile quality headphones which have a 3.5mm jack which could take advantage of a DAC while also having bluetooth capability. Does such a headphone exist? I was considering the audeze maxwell as it has a 3.5mm jack and bluetooth. Would I able to casual switch between bluetooth and 3.5mm for quality and convenience.
For context: I’m trying to take advantage of A sound blasterX AE5 DAC and also utilize bluetooth occasionally.
Full disclosure, I'm a fan of my fully-wired headphones. But I'm curious where the wireless market is at these days. What's the best, cost-no-object wireless headphones you've ever heard of?
I think Sony, Audio-Technica and B&W make some of the best I've heard and heard of. What other wireless headphones am I missing that might blow those away?
Hey everyone! I’m currently using the Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT, but I’m looking to upgrade to something with superior audio quality and comfort, preferably wireless (headset or earphones). I want to dive deeper into the audiophile world, so I'm open to any high-end recommendations within my budget.
Budget and Location:
I have a budget of up to $1000. I’m located in the US, so I have access to a wide range of online shops like Amazon, Best Buy, and Audiophile-specific stores like Headphones.com and B&H. I’m also open to recommendations for international shops if they offer better options or deals.
Preferred Tonal Balance:
I’m looking for a well-balanced and accurate sound profile, something versatile enough for a wide range of genres and gaming environments. I’m not necessarily a bass-head but do appreciate a solid, punchy low end. What I’m most interested in is a wide soundstage and crystal-clear mids and highs. I love sparkly treble that isn’t fatiguing and provides a lot of detail and immersion.
Usage:
I’ll primarily be using these at home for gaming and music listening. I enjoy immersive experiences in games like Star Citizen, Squad, and Escape from Tarkov, which have incredible audio design and realistic soundscapes. Music-wise, I listen to a variety of genres, from classical to rock to EDM, so versatility is important. Comfort is also key, as I often use my headphones for long sessions (3-5 hours at a time).
Past Gear Experience:
I’ve enjoyed my Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT for its convenience and decent all-around performance, but I find the soundstage a bit narrow, and the clarity could be improved, especially in the mids and highs. I also notice some fatigue during extended gaming sessions. I’m looking for an upgrade that can offer a true audiophile experience while still being wireless and comfortable for extended use.
Any suggestions that meet these criteria would be greatly appreciated!
Hello everyone,
First, sorry for my approximative English since I'm a non native speaker.
I am very new to the audiophile world, and it's complicated for me to find any informations since when you search something on google that can be buyable the results are 90-99% scam website with affiliate links or robots generated pages...
Despite I am new, I know there is differents dogma in the audiophile community, and one of them is that wireless is NOT really audiophile/HIRES, and also that earbuds doesn't compete with headphone. But I don't know if it's true or not.
But, in the workplace, I would like to use wireless earbuds for convenience reasons (discretion, being able to only have one buds without having the other one hanging around, and also for when I am walking). Headphone is for home.
I would like to buy an audiophile music player soon, because smartphone is not really good playing hifi/hires musics, and because I want to decorelate and decentralize my numeric stuff. Its also complicated for me to find a good music player that doesn't cost one or two month salary with all that fake reviews and "best list", but maybe it will be another topic later. But I will use it mostly with wireless earbuds.
SO my question is :
Is there any audiophile (hifi/hires) compatible (or best rendering at least) wireless earbuds ? Or should I just go nobrain for Bose sport earbuds with my smartphone, because no wireless earbuds (or maybe no earbuds at all) is able to render hifi/hires sound properly ?
Thanks you in advance for your help.
I'm looking for the best earbuds. I own the sony XM5s and want better but can't get a clear answer. I don't care about ANC, I heavily care about how good the treble sound, and my price range is $500. I am not going to buy 8 pairs of buds to see which sound the best to me. I've been recommend the AZ80s and Gemini 2s by people who aren't audiophiles. A few places I looked said to get Final's 8000 2s, but said the treble is lacking, which I have an issue with.
I've asked multiple places, mainly 30 different Google prompts, 10-20 review sites that all claim that X brand is the best, then say that about 5 other brands, and then list some name brand flagship on whatever top 10 list they have which they themselves said were inferior audio wise, and I've looked on YouTube to find that all of those guys only test name brands and claim those to be the best while ignoring a vast majority of great earbuds. I also went on an other sub reddit to find people who only recommended the crowd favorite (the Gemini 2s). At this point, I'm very hesitant and want to steer away from what most people would buy.
I want the best sounding earbuds, and at this point, I don't care about any other feature. I know there isn't one answer and I know everything in this industry is subjective, but I want a solid recommendation before I spend half a grand on something. I'm leaning towards Final's 8000 2s, but am willing to hear any recommendations, even if it is for the gemini 2s!
